February Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Hello Crafty Friends!  I love the monthly challenges put on by Altenew.  They give me a great excuse to use some of my supplies and perhaps add to the growing collection.  The colors this month are rich red and blue greens.

Wiper Cards

Greetings Crafty Friends! Simon Says Stamp has a challenge for interactive cards.  I have seen some recent posts using Wiper cards, so I dove in after reviewing a few YouTube videos!

The astronaut card began with a galaxy background created with distress ink blending and splatters in white paint and shimmer spray.

Pansy parade

Greeting friends.  I am sharing the process from stamping ink coloring charts to a finished card.  A suggestion was posted in the Altenew Fan Group to use the ink coloring charts provided by Altenew. Meetu posted her charts done with Altenew’s Pansy stamp set.  The flowers have 4 layers, perfect for swatching the sets. So while I was stamping, I set an 8.5 x 11 piece of Cougar cardstock nearby and as I was stamping swatches, I stamped a rainbow of Pansies in both sizes.

Thankful Deco Peacock

Greetings Crafty Friends!

I love the Art Deco Era.

I wanted to use this peacock and incorporate Art Deco images.  The background is white heat embossed using images from the Hero Arts Deco Thanks Set and the Hero Arts Totally sets.  Once the embossing was done, I blended blue Distress inks over and polished the white embossing. I cut an oval in the background and trimmed the piece to 3.75 x 5.5. Before attaching, I added the peacock. The peacock was embossed in black and colored with alcohol markers. The sentiment is from the Deco Thanks Set, popped up with foam tape.  I hope you like the card!

A bit of kindness

Greeting crafty friends! I have been playing with Hero Arts products this week.  I used them a Hero Arts Color Layering hydrangea and dies to create this beautiful card!  I started by embossing the a Hero Arts Mandela stencil to give the background interest.  I have been inspired by my good friend Amber at Noteable Ink who often embossed with stencils.  Who would have thought?

I stamped the hydrangeas with Hero Arts blue inks.  Once the stamping was done, I selected a deeper Copic marker and flicked the color on to provide dimension.  A yellow Copic marks the center.
