Vintage Snowy Winter Tag

Hello friends. I am here to share a fun snowy winter scene.

I used stencils from the most recent Stampers Anonymous Release as well as Darling Deer and Paper Village Die from Sizzix.

I started by creating the tag using Kraft Chipboard and then cut a piece of Distress Mixed Media Heavyweight.

I ink smooshed that piece in my favorite color combo: Shabby Shutters, Old Paper and Bundled Sage. It makes a great background for the PineCone Stencil.

I did a mono print by spraying the stencil with Bundled Sage, wiping off the borders and printing the stencil on the Mixed Media Heavyweight. Be sure to use a paper towel to soak up the excess ink.

Once that dried, I used blending brushes to add color to the pinecones and the needles. Colors used were Walnut Stain and Rustic Wilderness.

I used Wonder from the Tim Holtz Elements Stencil and ink blended with Walnut Stain. I quickly added a layer of Clear Embossing Powder to make it pop!

I die cut the houses from Kraft Chipboard and coated with Rustic Wilderness and Vintage Photo Embossing Glaze. I did run the coordinating ink pads on first to lay down some color. I cut the roofs from black cardstock. Notice I did not use the entire house, but trimmed them to be about 1/4 inch deep. The deer is from the Sizzix Darling Deer Die set. The tiny bottlebrush tree is colored with Rustic Wilderness Spray Stain.

I made the shelf from Chipboard by scoring the 4.5 inch wide strip at 1/4, 1/2, 5/8 and 1/4 inches to form the triangular shelf.

After attaching and sewing the pinecone piece to another Chipboard piece, I used my hot glue gun to attach the shelf, houses and tree. I did add a couple of small greenery pieces behind the houses.

Gritpaste Snowfall on the shelf and the rooftops was the perfect addition.

I topped the piece off with a piece of Rayon Seam binding dyed with Rustic Wilderness Ink, tied with twine and a twinkle bell.

I hope you have enjoyed my newest tag!

November 2022 Blossoming Creativity Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)

Hello friends. I am thrilled to be a guest designer for the November 2022 Blossoming Creativity Blog Hop with Altenew. This is an amazing release! The hop starts here. You should have arrived from Betty D. Wright's blog.

The Dancing Sunflower Stamp, Stencil and Dies really called my name! I am a huge sunflower fan and these blooms are gorgeous. Add a stencil set and you are good to go!

Check out how the different color schemes really change the look.

Check out how the background stencil really accentuates the blooms! I started with a slimline base and use the Halftone Stencil to add texture to the background flipping the stencil so change the dot size! When inking a Slimline size card, it is important to use a geometric design so the stencil can be matched up! Ink used is the Olive ink from the Tropical Forest set that was also used on the leaves for the blooms.

Stamp two of the blooms with Obsidian Black Pigment Ink. Be sure it is dry prior to ink blending with the stencils. Use the stencil layers to add the colors. Inks used include: Olive, Moss, Pinkalicious, Camomile, Snapdragon and Marigold inks from the Golden Sunsets set.

Ink blend a 1.5 inch wide strip of white cardstock using Olive Ink. Stamp a sentiment from The Acts of Kindness set. Attach the two blooms at opposite sides of the stenciled Slimline Card base and add the sentiment!

I tend to stamp and color multiple images at once, so I had to make another card featuring a dark background! I used the same floral inks as the first card and substituted blue inks for the leaves using Iceberg, Eastern Sky and Ultramarine from the Lapis Lazuli Ink set.

Love how the blooms pop off that dark background. The sentiment strip was created using the Nesting Slim Label Die, altered slightly to fit.

I decided to add patterns to the background by inking with the Linear Stencil using the Eastern Sky ink on light blue cardstock. I love how it just added a little interest below the bloom. I also embossed using the Dotted Geo Cover Die. Sentiment from Acts of Kindness set are stamped in Ultramarine.

I love the Chemistry Vases stamp, stencil and die. What a cute small vase it makes. This card, I selected rainbow colors and inked the tubes so I could arrange them over the stenciled background. The Alphabet Stencil provided the perfect contrast when inked in rainbow bands. I only used three ink colors Turquoise, Honey Drizzle and Puffy Heart. I blended the bands overlapping to create additional colors.

I arranged the vases in a small circle and added enamel drops in coordinating colors. Ink colors include: Puffy Heart, Turquoise, Honey Drizzle, Marigold and Firefly.

How about a simple floral vase? Yes, you can with this set!

Check out the elegant simplicity when a single tube is used a vase for the Wildflower Garden inked images!

The chemistry tube was stamped in the center of an A2 base suing gray inks from the Gentleman's Grey Ink set.

Bloom colors include Honey Drizzle, Olive, Magenta and Hydrangea. Note some masking was required to fit the stems in the tube.

I trimmed the stamped image and mounted on a piece from the Essential Rock Collection       6 x 6 inch paper pad. A sentiment from the Chemistry Set completes this card!

Same Embossed Card Base – Two Different Cards + Envelopes

Hello friends! I had so much fun using the new Pine Branches Embossing Folder to create an embossed card base on two unique cardstocks and posting to CutCardStock.com.

How different the cardstock choice makes these.

Die Cut Poinsettia Card

Embossed Card Base

Start with Kale Cardstock A2 panel. Use the Pine Needles Embossing Folder to create an embossed card base. Use White Pigment Ink and an Ink Blender to spotlight the pine needles.

Die Cut the Pieces

Cut the poinsettia flowers with Dark Red Cardstock, the branches with Glitter Opulent Opal Cardstock and Bay Leaf Cardstock. Glue the layers of the flowers together and used Gold Cardstock for the floral centers.

Assemble the Card

Attach the green pine base to an A2 base made with 100 lb. Natural Cougar Cardstock. Gold heat emboss the sentiment of your choice on the lower right front.

Attach the blooms and greenery to the upper left side.

Don’t Forget the Envelope!

I’ve discovered embossed envelope flaps! Insert the envelope flap into the embossing folder and fold to the back. Run it through your die cut machine. Choose a forest green ink and an ink blender brush to color the raised area!

Stamped Embossed Card Base

Set up the Base

Emboss and Neenah Dessert Storm Cardstock A2 card panel with the Pine Needles Embossing Folder to create an embossed card base. Using a blender brush, add color to the branches with Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink.

Design the Scene

Stamp the tree with the green ink and the snowman with black pigment ink. Add color to the snowman using Distress Watercolor Pencils and a small amount of water to blend.

Assemble the Card

Attach the card panel to an A2 cardbase cut using the Neenah Dessert Storm Cardstock. Use white Gesso to flick snowflakes on the scene. Use Red Drops to add a few bulbs to the tree. Add the sentiment of your choice. I used Sentiment Strips from Tim Holtz Ideology.

Don’t Forget the Envelope

Follow the same process as above to emboss and color the Nenah Desert Storm Envelope!

Layered Plaid Shaker Card

Hello friends, getting in the holiday mood with this fun layered plaid shaker card for CutCardStock. Check out the multiple layers of fun on this holiday card.

I love all the rich deep colors paired with Gold Currency Cardstock for the win!

Die Cut all the Pieces

Using your favorite die cut machine, cut out the three layers of the plaid background. Kale for the base, Cougar 100 lb White Cardstock for the white layer and Gold for the last layer. I used the new Sizzix Layered Plaid Thinlit Die.

Cut the sentiment from Dark Red Cardstock plus a gold layer. Glue the sentiments together offset slightly to show the gold base. Coat the top red Noel with Nuvo Glaze and sprinkle with glitter. Set aside to dry.

Cut a few holly leaves and sparkle accent leaves using dark green and Opulent Opal Glitter cardstock.

Using a piece of packaging like the ones you get when you purchase stamps and dies, cut a single layer about 1/2 inch larger than the Kale green piece. Using a tape runner, add tape to the very edge of three sides of the Kale piece. Lay the Kale piece on top of the packaging and fold the sides over to form the shaker. You will need to cut the corners at an angle to get a flat pocket. I use red tape to close the pocket. Add a length to the top of the pocket. Fill with sequins of your choice. I used Gold to match the top plaid layer. Close the pocket. I like to run a bone folder over the edges to assure a good seal.

Assemble the Card

Glue the gold plaid piece to the white plaid piece and then glue the plaid to the top of the green shaker base. Attach to an A2 cardbase made with 110 lb Cougar White Cardstock. I always cut and score my card bases starting with 8.5 x 11 pieces of cardstock.

Arrange the leaved and word on top of the plaid shaker. Glue and let dry to complete the card!

I love all the sparkle and bling created by using layers and sequins!

I hope you enjoyed seeing the process for this fun layered plaid shaker card! Be sure to check out all the great products offered by CutCardStock!
