Die Cut Floral Blooms

I love the subtle shine Stardream Metallic Cardstock has. Have you used it for die cutting? Today I am posting for CutCardStock. Today I am sharing this colorful die cut floral blooms card. I find when working with these larger dies, I like to make two similar yet unique cards!

Die Cut the Floral Components

Use the Fresh Picked Anemone Etched Die from Spellbinders to cut all the floral components. Use Pop Tone Cotton Candy and Amarynth Cardstock (a gorgeous deep pink) to die cut all of the bloom parts except the centers. Black Licorice Cardstock for the centers makes the blooms pop! Cut the leaves and stems, one set using Stardream Metallic Amethyst and a second set using DCS Light Teal

Assemble the Die Cut Blooms

Split the pink die cuts so you can create two sets of blooms, one with the lighter pink as the lower petals and one with the darker pink as the out petals.

Assemble the Cards

Use an A2 panel of Pop Tone Blue Raspberry Cardstock and pair the Stardream Amethyst Metallic Cardstock leaves and stems with the outer lighter blooms. Arrange the die cut blooms on the cardstock and glue in place.

Create the Sentiments

Use Black Licorice Cardstock to stamp and emboss your sentiments of choice. I used Altenew stencils for my cards as I have a large selection of their products. The first sentiment is glued in place, while the second is popped up with foam tape.

Attach to the Card Base

I use Cougar 110 lb. White Cardstock for my card bases. It is a heavy weight quality cardstock. I buy mine by the ream and create my own bases by trimming in half and scoring. CutCardstock also offer a cutting service if you prefer to have your precut and scored!

I love the colorful blooms and the contrast of the sentiments! The Stardream Metallic Cardstock adds a wonderful subtle shine. The Pop Tone Bubblegum Envelope picks up the pink hues perfectly!

Layered Masculine Card

Do you have trouble coming up with masculine cards? Today I am posting for CutCardStock. Here is an idea for a layered stamped card for the guys!

Create the Card Base

Sundance Royal Kraft Cardstock makes a great base for any Fall or Masculine card! I started with a 5.5 by 11 inch piece of Kraft Cardstock, scored in the center to create an A2 card. I am a big fan of stamped backgrounds! Use various Stampers Anonymous Stencils and Stamps with brown Distress Inks to add interest to the card base front and set aside. Mica Stain adds the metallic splatters for even more interest.

Create the Layers

Cougar Natural 100 lb. Cardstock is perfect for the typewriter stamp! Stamp and die cut the image with brown ink along with a sheet of paper from the stamp set. The stamp is another one from Stampers Anonymous. Select a sentiment and add to the typewriter. Rough up the edges of the sheet of paper before gluing into the opening on the typewriter.

Create the middle layer in the color of your choice using Distress Ink and Mica Sprays on an A2 size panel of Cougar White 80 lb. Cardstock. Once dry select additional masculine stamps and add images and words to the panel. Choose a rectangular shape ad die cut an image slightly larger than the typewriter.

Assemble the Card

Attach the die cut rectangle in the center of the A2 panel. Add foam tape to the typewriter to pop it up for interest. Add a sentiment if desired. I left mine as a blank note card.

Thanks for stopping! I hope you enjoyed the creation of the Masculine Card. Be sure to check out all the products available from CutCardstock. Their service and delivery is second to none!

Create a Floating Hexagon Card

Have you seen the fun floating hexagon cards posted recently? I was intrigued and decided to create a fun card and post for CutCardStock.

Create the Floating Hexagon Base.

I do mostly A2 size cards, so I challenged myself to create the Floating Hexagon in this size. Start with a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of Lessebo Flame cardstock for the back of the card. Score at 2 inches and rotate 180 degrees and score again at 2 inches. Trim another piece of Flame Cardstock to 6 by 2.5 inches. Score on the short edge at 1/4 inch and 2.0 inches. Rotate 180 degrees and repeat. Trim so you have a long piece 1 inch and a second 1.5 inches. This will be used to create the frame for the front of the card.

Create the Decorative Panels

Use 80 lb. White Cougar Cardstock and embellish with embossing folder of your choice. I used Altenew's Intricate Tile 3D Embossing folder. Choose a coordinating color of ink and run the ink pad over the top to highlight the embossed areas. Trim the panel to cover the inside of the panels plus the shorter pieces, leaving a small border.

Assemble the Hexagon Base

Use a glue taper runner to attach the embossed pieces to the scored Flame Cardstock piece. Use red tape on the 1/4 inch edges to attach the front frame to the base. You will need to slide the edges under the embossed panels, matching the edges.

Using the glue tape runner, attach the embossed pieces to their coordinating spaces.

Create the Focal Point Image

I am a big fan of making multiples while I have supplies out. These blooms were created recently with @Altenew's Proud of You bloom and die set and stored for future uses. I simply coordinated the base cardstock color to match the blooms.

Arrange the blooms in a fun way and glue together. Attach to the hexagon card ONLY gluing the area on the middle rectangular section so the card forms a standing hexagon.

Die cut the sentiment and shadow using 100 lb. Cougar White cardstock and Black Licorice Pop Tone Cardstock. Attach the sentiment to the blooms.
