Christmas Boxes from Box Tops

Hello friends! Getting ready for the holidays.

Let me show you how to create 3D boxes with these Vignette Box Tops.

I found these Vignette Box Tops by Tim Holtz in my stash.

I believe they were sized to be used on his Vignette Boxes. I did not have any in stock so I found another way to create a box.

Start by tracing the outline of the flat top onto chipboard.

Cut the box out, being careful to cut inside the lines.

Score the fold lines precisely at the corners. Use a bone folder for crisper fold lines.

Use the bone folder to sharpen the folds on your box top. Attach a piece of double stick tape to the edge of the bottom flap. Add liquid adhesive and line it up with one of the smaller sides of the chipboard piece.

Embellish the inside of the chipboard piece, making sure you orient the pieces to the top of the box.

Use a hot glue gun to attach the large Tim Holz Snowman along a small tree to the base of the box. Add adhesive tape to the remaining three flaps. A little liquid adhesive is helpful here as well. Fold the flaps together to form your box display!

I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial. Now, I am off for more holiday makes!
