Junk Journal Inspired Cards

Greetings! This month we are playing with Paper Dolls Images from the 1920's Sally and Susan. The theme is Friendship. I had so much fun playing with these! This is my second post this month! You can find the post for a decorated tablet here. The video is here.

I am a huge fan of all things vintage. You can transfer these ideas to your junk journaling!

The first step was to print all the dolls, dresses and hats on Cougar 80lb Cardstock. After fussy cutting them out, I was ready to create the scene. Notice I did some extra trimming on the slips to allow more dress choices.

I have always loved hot air balloons!

This card started with Susan, dressed in this sweet blue floral dress. The base is Cougar 80lb. Natural Cardstock. The woodgrained base was created by inking the Sizzix 3D Lumbar folder with Weathered Wood Distress ink and running it through my Big Shot. I love the variation of color created!

The Balloon card is from the Harvest Fair digital set. The ephemera is from my stash. Sentiments strips are from Tim Holtz's sentiment strip stamp.  I glued small pink baubles over the flowers on her hat and dress for dimension.

The next card is Susan placed on a gingham background from the same Harvest Fair set.

The herb tag is also from that set. A bit of twine dresses it up. I just love the cozy look of this card. The gingham is mounted on Cougar Natural 80 lb. cardstock that was inked with Distress Ink Vintage Photo.

The ephemera is from my stash. Final addition is Sally dressed in this sweet blue dress and hat.

With Valentines Day approaching, I decided to do one card in that theme.  This one started with a Kraft Base.  The next layer is a piece of ephemera from my stash die cut with the falling hearts die from Sizzix.  The brown gate to Sally's right was cut wuth a Kaiser Craft window die from Kraft Woodgrain Cardstock.

The red hearts are coated with Nuvo Glaze for shine and attached to the base. I popped Sally up on the gate and added the sentiment from the Sweetheart Pocket Journal set.

Loving these digital sets from TaylorMadeCards4U. Be sure to check out her site.
