Alcohol Inks on Kromacote Cardstock

Have you played with alcohol inks on different papers? I have and my favorites are Kromecote Cardstock and Heavy Vellum. Hi, today I am posting this bright Valentine for CutCardStock.

I love the glossy finish with the bright colored base.

Create the Alcohol Inked Base on Kromecote

Start with an A2 size panel of Kromecote. I used the single sided product. Lay the panel on a glass mat shiny side up and choose your colors. For this card, I used two hues of a very dark purple alcohol ink from Ranger.

Add a small puddle of 91% alcohol onto the panel, then add a few drops of the two purple inks. Use the blower tool, squeezing gently to move the inks around. I love how you get different tones of color! Set aside to dry.

Once dry, emboss with the folder of your choice. I used a heart folder and added Black Archival ink with a brayer to highlight the hearts.

Create the Embellishments

Die cut two lacy hearts using Cougar 100 lb. White Cardstock. I used an older heart die from Simon Says Stamps. Glue together and glue the heart to a piece of Curious Clear Translucent 65 lb. CardStock, being careful to keep the glue on the white sections of the lacy heart. Trim the vellum from the piece.

Die cut the word love and the shadow. I cut the shadow using the 100 lb. Cougar and the word from a piece of black cardstock in my stash.

Assemble the Card

Use an A2 size card base cut from Cougar 100 lb. White Cardstock. Trim the purple alcohol inked base to 4.0 x 5.25 inches and glue to the front of the A2 base. Glue the heart and the sentiment die cut to the front of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Take a moment and review all the great offerings at CutCardStock. Their products and customer service are spectacular!
