Layered Color Cardstock for Impact!

Have you layered die cut blooms using different layered color cardstock? How about embossing cardstock for texture in the background? Today I am posting for CutCardStock, and I am sharing both ideas today!

Loving the depth of color and texture on this card!

Choose the Cardstock and Die Cut the Layers

You may know I am a fan of cool colors! For the Honey Bee Lovely Layers Anemone dies, I chose Pop-tone Grape Jelly, Grapesicle and Jelly Bean Green, Lessebo Sunset and Coffee Bean, and Pop-Tone Black Licorice Cardstocks. I also used Cougar 80 lb. White Cardstock for the bloom bases. Die cut the elements with parts to complete at least 3 blooms with extra leaves.

Create the Layered Color Cardstock Blooms

Use the layered color cardstock petals to create the bloom and glue each layer in order on top of the lower layers. Attach one leaf off to the side of one bloom. Save the others for final assembly.

Create the Textured Background

Trim a piece of Cougar 100 lb. Cardstock to 4.25 x 5 inches. Line the panel up in Altenew's Raised Sentiment Embossing Folder. Run through your die cut machine to emboss. Trim the panel to 4.0 x 5.25 inches.

Assemble the Card

Trim a piece of Grape Jelly Cardstock to A2 size and attach to an A2 cardbase. I purchase my Cougar Cardstock in reams and cut and score to create cards. Use a glue runner to attach the Grape Jelly piece to the card base, followed by the embossed white piece.

Arrange the blooms as desired on the front of the card saving the bloom with the leaf attached for the top layer. I like to use the visual triangle for arranging my elements, generally in odd numbers for balance.

Glue two blooms to the base and add the third bloom using foam tape to pop up the image.
