Today I am sharing Savoy 100% Cotton Cardstock as a medium for water coloring. It also foils beautifully as well! Hi, today I am posting for CutCardStock!

Check out the color you can achieve! I also love the contrast against the deep Navy embossed background.
Create the Floral Image on Cotton Cardstock
Use a Hot Foil Plate to create a large floral image for water coloring. I used Savoy Cardstock to foil the image from Altenew's Vibrant Floral set to create the base.

You absolutely can watercolor on Savoy 100% Cotton Cardstock. I also is great for letterpress techniques! Select your watercolors and apply a light wash over the blooms and leaves being careful to stay within the lines. The foil embossing does create somewhat of a well to hold the color. Add more intense watercolor to spotlight the different areas and provide texture and dimension. Note: Compared to regular watercolor, you do need to manage the amount of liquid being applied. Once complete, set aside to dry completely prior to fussy cutting the image.
Create the Contrasting Panel and Sentiment
Navy Lessebo Cardstock provides a dramatic contrast to the bright yellow blooms! Trim the cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5 inches and select a shaped larger die for the panel. Insert the shaped panel into an embossing folder of choice and run through your die cutting machine.
Select a sentiment preferably with a shadow die. I used Versatile Greeting die set from Altenew. Cut the shadow with White Cougar Cardstock and the sentiment with Gold Stardream Metallic Cardstock and glue together. This is one of my favorite metallic cardstocks!

Check out the texture on the background!
Assemble the Card
Start with an A2 Cougar 110 lb. White Cougar Cardstock base. I buy the cardstock by the ream and create my own bases. Glue the Navy panel in the center of the card base, followed by the fussy cut bloom. Note: some of the leaves will hang over the side, but many be trimmed.
Add the sentiment, popping up with a small piece of foam tape.

I love how bright and cheery this one came out! Be sure to check out CutCardStock for all your card crafting supplies. They also carry envelopes!
