Die-na-mite Dies for the win

Greetings again crafty friends. I am posting today for The Funkie Junkie Boutique. The new challenge is to use dies in your projects. They can be the main focus or incorporated into your design. I love the Perspective Butterfly Die and was determined to incorporate it into my design for this challenge.

Check out all the great Distress Ink colors in this fun layered tag! It all started with a Mini Etcetera Tag edged in gray chalk paint.

The base layer for this project is Ranger Tim Holtz White Heavystock embossed with the Sizzix Intertwined 3D embossing folder. This is actually the back side of the piece. I had intended to use a darker blue background but ended up changing my mind. Check out the video in this post to see the choices.

Distress Ink Colors used include Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina.

Check out the Perspective Butterfly Die cut from the Heavystock paper. In addition to Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina inks, I added Wilted Violet for the pop of color! Inks were added individually using a smooshing technique. I covered the butterfly in 2 layers of Collage Medium to stiffen up the image as I knew I wanted to use it folded in half on my tag.

The layered flowers are from a couple different sets Sizzix Wildflower Stems 1 plus Stampers Anonymous Flower Garden stamp. Distress inks in multiple colors were used to color the flowers.

I posted a video on my YouTube channel demonstrating the entire process here:

I'd love it if you would subscribe to my channel!

Check out the layers created with the flowers followed by the butterfly.

The quote chip is coated with Ranger Distress Embossing Ink, coated with Salvaged Patina Embossing Glaze and heat dried.  The quote is attached to the tag with Ranger Distress Collage Medium.

I hope you will take the time to enter the Funkie Junkie Challenge posted on their blog
