Mermaid Shaped Card

Hello Crafty Friends! I am here today to post a fun shaped card for A Blog Named Hero. This month's challenge is a shaped card!

It all started with a white heat embossed background on watercolor paper using the Hero Arts Jellyfish Party Bold Prints Stamp.  I did some ink smooshing (my favorite technique) using a variety of cool colored Distress Inks.  The additional Jellyfish were Fussy Cut and popped up with silver threads attached.

The Mermaid is stamped on Cougar 80lb paper and colored with a variety of Copic Markers.  The Jelly Fish background provided not only the individual jelly fish at the top, but also the base which was strategically cut to form a shelf for the Mermaid.

This is a "hot dog" card with two folds one at the 5.5 inches and the second is on the card front at 2.75 inches to form the easel. I attached a blue ink smooshed piece also scored at 2.75 inches to card front.

The ink smooshed Jelly Fish piece is attached to the bottom of the card along with the Mermaid so she pops up when the easel is engaged.

The sentiment inside is from the Big Hugs Stamp and Cut set! I popped it up on a few layers of cardstock so the easel could engage when the card is displayed.

Too much fun making shaped cards! Remember that you go in to the draw to win one of two gift vouchers from our fantastic sponsors, Hero Arts, just by entering!
