Cookie Cards with Maker Forte

Who doesn’t love holiday cookies?  I am so happy to be posting for Maker Forte as a Guest Designer! As soon as I saw the Cookie stamp set designed by Alex Syberia for Maker Forte, I was hooked!  Pair that with the heavy A2 card bases and the adorable clay candy cane and Peppermint Hot Chocolate pieces and you have a recipe for some darling cards.

I had gingerbread cookies  and shaker cards on my mind so I started by white heat embossing the cookies on a piece of Ginger Snap Cardstock. Isn’t t the perfect color for cookies? Once heat embossed, I fussy cut the cookies out.

The card front was created with a striped embossing folder swiped with Distress Festive Berries Ink.  The Cougar 80 lb White Cardstock took on the dye ink well. I love the dimension it created.  I cut a circle opening through both the striped front, the Ultra White Heavy Weight Card Base front and 2 pieces of red fun foam.

I have a short video to show you the steps in creating the card; Check it out here:

I added the larger gingerbread man to the inside as well as the Happy Holidays sentiment.

The next card I have for you is  a simple layered card featuring a great way to use your patterned paper!

This card began by stamping a row of candy canes with Festive Berries Distress ink on Cougar 80 lb White Cardstock.  This piece was trimmed and mounted on a piece of Smooth Red Wagon Cardstock for contrast.

As I was stamping the gingerbread cookies for the first card, I also stamped the same arrangement of stamps on Cougar 80 lb. White CardStock.  These images were colored with Copics and fussy cut. A layer of Nuvo Glaze provides the shine.  You will see more of these images in my second post coming the end of November.

The Red Wagon Smooth Cardstock base and the patterned piece were mounted on a Ultra White Heavy Weight card base.

The Happy Holidays is White heat embossed on the red cardstock along with the candy cane line.  The single colored candy cane is popped up with foam dots for dimension.

I  can see lots of possibilities for this design using whatever patterned paper you have in your stash, a sentiment and a sturdy card base.

I have a bonus card for you today!

I had visions of the star cookies floating along in a galaxy!  I silver embossed the star cookies and the sentiment on a piece of Stardream Metallic Neptune Cardstock. Using a rounded tool, I added the additional silver splatters to form a swirl.  This was trimmed and mounted on a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of  Curious Metallic Galvanized Cardstock. The card base is an Ultra White Heavy Side Folding base from Maker Forte.
