Embossed Colorful Fall Leaves

Have you tried inking embossed panels? Check out this fun process that bring textured embossed panels to life! It is Teri with TerisMailbox posting for CutCardStock.

Fall is my favorite season with all the gorgeous colored leaves!

Create the Embossed Base Panels

Today I am showing you two very different looks using the same techniques with different embossing folders on 100 lb. Environment Desert Storm Cardstock. I used this cardstock for all components of these cards.

Both cards start with an A2 panel of Desert Storm Cardstock. For the first card, swipe the panel with purple and olive Distress Inks. Run the Expresso Archival ink pad over the positive side of the A5 Leaves Embossing folder by Tim Holtz frame where the veins pop up. Insert the panel, inked side against the newly inked panel and emboss. Set aside to dry.

For the orange brown panel. Ink the positive side (where the images pop up) of the Cracked Large folder with Expresso Archival Ink and insert the second panel to emboss the background.

Trim both down to 4.0 x 5.25 using the Deckle Edge Trimmer. Ink blend brown and purple Distress Inks around the edges. Attach to Desert Storm Card Bases and set aside.

Create the Leaves and Sentiment Circles

Ink blend Olive, Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet Distress Inks over one panel of Desert Storm Cardstock and Peeled Paint, Mahogany and Crackling Campfire over the second panel. Die Cut the leaves using Sizzix leaf dies. I die cut multiples so I could play.

Stamp the purple and olive leaves using a veined stamp set.

Die cut an embossed circle using the same cardstock. Add a sentiment and ink the edges.

Arrange three leaves and the circle banner on the embossed leaf front and attach. Add a twine bow to the leaves for interest.

For the orange and green card, add a second die cut layer to one of the leaves that will become a focal point. Use the Foliage Large Embossing Folder, inking up the positive side with Expresso Archival Ink and match the die cuts with similar leaves on the folder. They will not exactly match. After embossing , they give the illusion of veins on the leaves. Create another sentiment circle, stamp the sentiment and ink the edges using a section of Desert Storm Cardstock that was embossed and inked with the Cracked Large folder.

Arrange the circle sentiment, and the leaves across the front of the Cracked embossed card base almost as if they were falling. Add the circle sentiment circle on the lower left.

Add the Final Bling

Look closely and you will see small spots of bling on the card. I used red, green and gold Mica Sprays to add the bling by flicking the small tube attached to the sprayer.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I encourage you to check out all the great products offered at CutCardStock. Their Customer Service is superb!
