Double Envelope Card

Have you ever tried using envelopes for your card base? Today I am posting a double envelope card base for CutCardstock.

I decided to do a double panel card in one for our grandsons after a Halloween card for one got lost in the mail.

Create the Card Base

Start with two Pop-Tone Berrylicious envelopes. Line them up and tape the center flaps allowing enough room to fold the right envelope over the left envelope. This is your double envelope card base.

Trim a piece of Cougar 80 lb. White Cardstock to 11.5 x 4.25 inches. Score the panel to wrap around the two attached envelopes. This will leave an opening to add a band with an embossed sentiment. Use a Valentines Stencil to add color to the front areas. (I stenciled both the front and back areas for my card using Tumbled Glass and Prize Ribbon Distress Inks). Wrap the stenciled piece round the envelopes and use a glue runner to attach.

Create the Oval Panels

Die cut the Love, Boot Foot Die from This Calls for Confetti using Lessebo Granite Cardstock. Cut four so you can layer the die cuts for strength. You will need an additional Big Foot die cut for the front panel. Die cut two ovals using 100 lb. White Cougar Cardstock.

Die cut the small hearts using the Cougar 100 lb. White Cardstock. Use Prize Ribbon Distress Inks to color three small hearts. Add Nuvo Glaze to one heart and set aside to dry.

Glue the double layered Big Foot Images to the Ovals facing the center panel. Add a small, inked heart into the opening. Slip the ovals into the envelope openings on each side.

Create the Front Panel

Start with a White Cougar 80 lb. White Cardstock A2 panel. Attach that to the front of the envelope card. Use the Layered Hearts Stencil from SimonSaysStamps to add Prize Ribbon ink to an additional piece of Cougar 80 lb. White Cardstock. Die cut a heart using the Sweet Talk Die from This Calls for Confetti.

Layer the stenciled heart and the Big Foot Figure on the card front. Glue the heart with the Nuvo Glaze into the opening.
