Greetings friends! Check out these gorgeous Rainbow Cards using the bright color variety of cardstock from CutCardStock!
The colors just pop!
I have a video here: https://youtu.be/pqFWQyiM-E0
Select a rainbow of bright colors of cardstock and trim to 1/4 inch strips. I used Pop Tone Razzleberry, DCS Wild Salmon, Camomile, Basis Light Lime, AstroBright Lunar Blue, and Basis Dark Purrple.
Use double sided adhesive tape or sheets to line the strips up on an A2 card panel made from Cougar 80 lb white cardstock. Add the colorful strips to the card panel, being careful to keep them straight. I made two rainbow A2 panels.
Diecut the Rainbow Panel
Here is a trick – you can die cut a sentiment from the A2 panel as long as you are adding a center piece to cover the die cuts. Choose a fairly large sentiment to die cut the rainbow panel. I used Thinking of You from a Concord and Ninth.
Assemble the Shaker Card
Trim a piece of 100 lb. White Cougar Cardstock to a size slightly larger than your sentiment. Glue the Rainbow sentiment in the center of the white cardstock piece.
Use a White Cougar Card Base and attach the rainbow panel with the die cut center to the base.
Now comes the fun part. Find a piece of clear packaging – the kind your stamps, dies and stencils come in. Trim the packaging to the size of the rectangle plus at least 1/4 inch all around. Use glue tape to attach three sides of the packaging to the rectangle leaving the top open to add the bling. Note: You will need to cut the corners of the packaging to help it lay smooth. Find coordinating sequins and add to the front of the rectangle. Seal the pocket.
Add Fun Foam or Foam Tape to the back of the rectangle and attach to the card front.
Stamp the Rainbow Strip
This card uses a portion of the rainbow striped cardstock to highlight the stamped image.
Use an A2 100 lb. White Cougar Cardstock Card base to stamp the image on. You will be stamping twice, once on the card base and once on the rainbow striped piece.
Insert the card base into your stamp positioner. Select a fairly large image. I used Altenew’s Eucalyptus Jar stamp (affiliate link). Use a black pigment ink and clear embossing powder to add the image to the left center section of the base.
Trim and set the rainbow stripe panel in the center of the A2 card. Be sure to remove the card base before stamping! Use Black Pigment Ink and Clear Embossing Powder to stamp and heat the image.
Stamp and emboss the sentiment of choice from the set. Use a circle die to cut both the sentiment plus a slightly larger circle.
Assemble the Rainbow Card
Add glue tape runner to the back of the rainbow striped piece. Line the image up with the image on the card base and attach. Cut a couple extra of the small circles and stack under the sentiment. Glue the sentiment on the lower right section.
