Hello friends. I am posting for The Funkie Junkie Boutique! The current challenge called Blustery Day invites us to use a technique, tools or supplies you find difficult to use. Info on the current challenge is Here.
I am a Tim Holtz addict! I collect more than I use. I challenged myself to go through my stash and use it! I even share SOME of my collection with you before I start creating!
While Gladys is the new item on this tag, I promise the rest came out of those bins I showed you.
* Note you can go through your stash and find similar items for your personalized tag!
I have a video including the look at a portion of my stash here:
The link is Here if the video doesn't show up.
The base is Kraft Heavyweight Cardstock collaged onto a Medium Etcetera Tag with multiple ephemera pieces.
The next step was to stitch the tag using black thread.
Check out the stenciling behind Gladys. I used Crackle Paste that I discovered was drying out as I don't use it enough! Lesson number 2 for Teri! USE YOUR STUFF!
I sprinkled Kitch Flamingo and Cracked Pistachio Glaze over the top of the paste and heat dried it. Because the paste was a little dry, the glaze wasn't as thick as I'd hoped.
I coated everything with Collage Medium and let it dry. The next step was to add some color using Distress Crayons and "painting the color around with my fingers. I did decide to use a wet paper towel and rub over some of the ephemera to lighten it.
The metal Ideology piece is colored with Flamingo Alcohol Ink and attached with collage medium.
The last piece is the Quote Chip covered with Embossing Ink and Cracked Pistachio Glaze and heat dried. Gladys is the wonderful colorful centerpiece and I cannot wait to make more!

ReplyDeleteI actually came across your video on TH Addicts FB and got sucked in. I usually don't watch videos; don't have the patience to sit through one in it's entirety. However, yours was very well done and was such a pleasure to watch. The collage backgrounds are something I struggle with, and when I saw this, I thought that might be your struggle as well. But I see you share with me another crafty conflict of using our favorites vs hoarding them. I do that with paper! Looks like I may have a few entries for this challenge! Your tag is a treat to look at and very well done!
ReplyDeleteI feel the pain, hoarding(saving) Vs using things up. What a wonderful tag. Gladys looks flamazing!
