Altenew NEW Year-End Celebration Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello friends! I am thrilled to be part of the new Altenew Release and Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Laurie Willison's Blog.

I had so much fun playing with the new Stand Alone Dies from Altenew! I ended creating 4 unique cards for this release. My favorite two are those using the watercolored Lovely Daises Die.

Check out all the texture and dimension on this one. The video documents the process.

Next up is a fun shaker using the Mega Stamp Frame Die set along with a Daisy from The Lovely Daisies Die set.

I created dimension on the petals by flicking the Turquoise brush from the Altenew Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brush set. This process is detailed in the video above. I cut the window using a rectangle die that allowed for the shaker envelope to be added. I cut a matching window to enclose the shaker between the card front and the inside of the card. The window frame is cut from Woodgrain White Cardstock and swiped with Maple Yellow ink from the Pocketful of Sunshine ink set.

The shaker is simple a clear plastic envelope from a stamp set filled with miscellaneous sequins from my stash.

The next card uses background stamping and a new sentiment die. I created the background using the Vintage Tapestry Stamp set in shades of purple using the Sugarplum Crisp Die set. After trimming the background to 4.0 x 5.25 inches, I used the new Fancy Yay Die to cut the word from the front. I also cut the die using purple fun foam and created a pop-up sentiment.

The last card uses the Gold Band Lily Die to create this colorful, textured card.

Check out how the layer of vellum adds a softness to the bloom! For the background, I selected coordinating blue cardstock to cut the smaller circles so when layered, you have a few different colored circles framing the bloom. After cutting the circles, I dry embossed the white base with the Angled Mosaic 3D folder.

The bloom and leaves are cut using a variety of cardstock from my stash. Check out how the gold layer really sets the stage for and elegant card! The tiny sentiment Hello die was cut from 2 shades of cardstock and layered to allow the lighter blue layer to peek through.

  1. You made coloring the flowers with watercolor look doable (and so pretty) for a non-watercolorist. Thank you.
