Background Basics with Hero Arts

Hi friends! Toady I am posting cards for the August Change. The blog is undergoing maintenance, so please post your entries on Instagram and tag #abnhAugustChallenge.  I am presenting 4 different cards spotlighting the Crafty Tools Background Stamp.

Check out this fun shaker card!  It began with the base. This is a watercolor panel where the image was black heat embossed. After smooshing Reactive Ink Pads (Creamsicle, Blue Hawaii, Green Apple, Fruit Punch, Grape Slush and Lemon Drop)  on my craft sheet, I water colored the stripes at an angle. Once dry, I used an oval die to cut the shaker opening.

Here are most of the supplies used.

The next step is to stamp and heat emboss the Tin of Brushes on a watercolor panel. A variety of watercolors complete the scene.  The final step is to cut the oval shape out of a piece of coordinating fun foam, add a piece of acetate between the top water color panel and the fun foam. Sparkle, bling and tiny silver scissors added to the middle section complete this card!  The sentiment is black heat embossed on a water color strip. The sentiment is from the  is from the Big Hugs Stamp and Cut set.

The next card is a similar design using a white heat embossed background. I used the same reactive inks and painted the diagonal stripes. This time both the Tin of Brushes stamp and the background used the oval dies to cut the opening. The black of white Tin of Brushes was pieced into the background opening.

The sentiment is from The Happy Thanks Stamp and Cut set.

The final card uses the oval cut out from Card #1. Always good to get a two-fer! It started with another black heat embossed background, this time not colored at all.  The foam oval cut for the first card was used to pop up the oval on this one!

The Thanks was cut from Glossy Black cardstock using the Thanks from the Happy Thanks Stamp and Die set. I have found so many uses for these wonderful sets. A few bling pieces scattered about add a final touch!

I hope you have enjoyed my post. The monthly challenge is open. This time, please post your creations on Instagram and add the tag #abnhAugustChallenge so we can find your entry!
