Inky Watercolor Stamping with Altenew's Educator Bloghop.

Hello Crafty Friends! Today I am participating in the March Altenew Educator's Blog Hop. you should have arrived from Nennette Madero's blog

The Theme is old or favorite stamps.  I went way back to one of the first stamp sets I purchased called Happy Dreams.

I wanted to challenge myself to make three unique cards using the feather stamp.

I started by stamping the images in different configurations using Lime, Aqualicious and Hydrangea inks. I like these cards and will be sending them out, but I was looking for something a little more creative for this hop.

Here is the first card I came up with. As you can see, the layout is just like one in the photo above, however I used the same inks applied to my craft mat, sprinkled with water and stamped on watercolor paper. I love the looseness of the stamped design. Once the circle of feathers was completed, I flicked additional ink onto the base.

I stamped the sentiment using the Aqualicious ink and clear embossed on top for shine. I die cut the circle, a piece of teal fun foam and the purple circle one size larger. The card was assembled on an A2base with a purple frame to make the colors pop.

The next card was created by gold heat embossing the images and sentiment prior to ink smooshing the background. I love to ink smoosh and these Altenew inks move and flow well to accomplish the loose watercolor look.

I love the way the Hydrangea and Aqualicious inks layered to create a whimsical background! The final step was to use VersaMark ink on the edges followed by the gold embossing powder. I flicked water droplets and quickly added the gold powder and heated.

The base was trimmed and mounted on a double layer of colored cardstock.

For the final card, I randomly stamped the leaves using Aqualicious and Lime inks lined up so I could pick up two colors on one image.  I used the two colors to stamp the sentiment in the center. An additional stamping with Versafine ink and clear embossing powder added the pop for the sentiment.

The base was simply trimmed to 3.75 x 5.5 inches and mounted on an A2 card base with 1/4 inch black strips framing the image.

I have a YouTube Video documenting the process here:
