Double Embossed Altenew Dahlia Stencil

Greetings crafty friends!  I am so excited to share a video on YouTube demonstrating a dry embossing technique using a two layer stencil! I am also posting today for CutCardStock.

I started by ink blending both the base and the detail stencil in pink and aqua Altenew inks (Dew Drop and Aqualicious plus Pink Diamond and Pinkalicious). I used Cougar 80 lb. paper.

Once the blending was complete and after cleaning the stencils, I attached and dry embossed over the blending using my Big Shot and embossing pads.  I erroneously said I was heat embossing by mistake in the video. I love how this gave the card front even more depth and dimension!

The card front is mounted on a piece of Dolpin Grey cardstock from CutCardStock.  The sentiment is from Altenew's More Than Words Stamp set - another of my favorites.  I used my T ruler and drew a line using a matching alcohol ink pen to add interest to the sentiment strip.

Here is a short video outlining the process:

Here are three examples using this technique:

  2. I have a question. I see you colour the paper with the 2 stencils. Where is the embossing technique afterwards????
