Leaf Canopy stamp set – 5 ways
Hello crafty friends!
I am so honored and excited to have been invited to participate in the Altenew Educator bloghop! You should have arrived from FrancineDodwell‘s blog.
I achieved the Altenew Educator Certification last year, and
what an inspiring journey it was. Once you complete each online class, you are
challenged to submit the best example of your work for review. You will also
compete a challenge project at the end of each level. Virginia and Nichole have
both been extremely supportive through the process. I loved the variety of classes offered and
would highly recommend this program to anyone wishing to increase their skills
and challenge their creativity.
The theme of this hop is favorites. I chose the Leaf Canopy
Stamp and Die set. This is a versatile
set that can be used in multiple ways with a variety of mediums.
Dimensional Birthday Card
Starting in the center of a 4x5.25 piece of Cougar white cardstock,
I stamped the outline image using grey ink. I continued stamping until the base
was completely covered. I cut the
stitched hexagon and the outer edges. I
used alcohol markers to color only the center hexagon piece. I mounted the center piece on matching teal
foam and added a teal card base. I die
cut Happy from the Altenew Halftone Happy set.
I layered three die cuts to create the dimension. I then embossed birthday in white powder on a
black strip of cardstock and assembled the card.
Thankful for your Friendship
This is my favorite! I started with a piece of watercolor
paper and die cut it to 4 x 5.25 inches.
I water-colored wide stripes in teal and allowed the piece to dry. I also silver embossed the leaf outlines on
watercolor paper and used the same shade of teal paint to color the
leaves. The leaves were die cut with the
Leaf Canopy dies and arranged behind two flowers from the Spring Daisy
set. The flowers were water colored and
dimension added with alcohol markers. The sentiment is from the Altenew/Simon
Says Stamptember set stamped in black ink.
Hugs
This one has multiple layers of cardstock and inked
vellum. I love the depth that has been
created! I started with a piece of Cougar
cardstock and stamped the outline images using black ink. I also stamped the vellum and another piece
of Cougar cardstock for the additional layers. I used a grey ink on the vellum
for a softer look. I colored all the
leaves using alcohol markers. I used
Altenew’s Inline Alphabet Dies to cut the word hugs under the leaf
arrangement. I chose a matching lavender
card base, trimming the face piece to 5.5 x 4 inches to allow a matching stripe
on the left side.
I cut a piece of Kraft cardstock using a stitched rectangle
die. I stamped the leaf images from the
upper left corner in white pigment ink to provide the base for the colors. I then used watercolor markers, coloring each
leaf in random colors and stamped slightly offset. The final layer was brown ink with the
outline stamp offset slightly. The
sentiment is from Altenew’s More than Words stamp set. I love this set. It has
a variety of greetings for many occasions.
I mounted the piece in the upper left corner on a green A2 card base.
You are Awesome
This card started with a piece of watercolor paper cut with
a corner rectangle die. I stamped the
smaller leaf image around the perimeter in a light brown ink. Once dry, I water colored the leaves using
Altenew’s watercolors in Fresh Lemon, Warm Sunshine and Citrus Burst. I wet the
area first with clear water so the colors would mix on their own. I added some splatters with the orange
watercolor. Using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment from Altenew’s Super Script
set. The card is mounted on an A2 orange base.
To complete the look, I trimmed the corners to match the die outline.
Here is a last look at all five cards
