Hello friends. Today I am posting for CutCardStock. I have been experimenting with card folds and created this fun moving panel card.

It looks complicated, but really is not!
Create the Card Base
Start with a Cougar 110 lb. White Cardstock cut to A2 size and scored in the middle. Select your center panel die. Those with straight edges versus curves are easier to center. It is important to center the panel as half of the panel will flip when the card is opened. I used a stitched edge die for interest. Center the die on the front panel only and run through your die cut machine. Use the same centering measurements to die cut an A2 panel that will be attached to the front of the card for strength. You will decorate the center panel later.

Create the Inside Moving Panel
You will need another piece of Cougar Cardstock, this time 80 lb. White Cardstock. Score the short side at 2 1/8 inches, 4 1/2 inches and 6 5/8 inches. Starting at the left side, fold two mountain and then 1 valley fold. Score the folds. This will create the box onto which the front panel is adhered.
Start with a piece of 80 lb. Cougar White Cardstock. Select coordinating colors of Distress Oxide Inks. Use a brayer to lay down the inks randomly and in different directions. Set aside to dry. Cougar Cardstock is my go-to cardstock. The 80 lb. is great for stamping and stenciling techniques while the 110 lb. creates firm card bases!
Use the small panel to select a focal image. Note the image must fit completely within the panel to allow the panel to flip. I selected a floral image from Altenew, using the coordinating stencils to add color. Die cut the image. Set aside. You will need a smaller brayered piece to add color inside when the card is opened. It can be any size as long as it fits within one of the 2 1/8 x 5.5 inch panels.
Assemble the Moving Panel Card
Apply glue of tape adhesive to the underside of the right thin panel. Align with the right side of the card. Fold the panel so the middle mountain fold is out towards the card edge. The next step is the glue the first small panel to the inside of the side with the die cut opening. Open the card to expose the inside of the front panel and apply glue to the inside opening only. Close the card to adhere.
Here is where the fun begins. Die cut a single panel from the colorful panel using the same die cut. Glue the colorful panel to the white panel you cut from the front. Glue the focal image in the center of the panel. Lay the card base down. One of the small panels should be visible on the right side of the opening. Apple glue to the right side only of the focal panel and attach to the front right side. The small panel should swivel open when the card is opened.

Open the card and lay flat to complete the inside. Attach the smaller long colorful piece to the second tall panel from the right. Select a sentiment and attach to the far-right panel. You can add smaller decorated pieces if you choose.

Thanks so much for stopping by! CutCardStock has an amazing selection of cardstock in addition to my favorite Cougar White!
