Hello! Today I am posting for CutCardStock. Let’s compare the different affects you can achieve when using the positive and negative sides of embossing folders on Vellum. I have been experimenting with alcohol inks on vellum and am loving the results.

Trim 65 lb. Translucent Vellum to A2 card size. Use a variety of fall colored alcohol ink plus 90% Isopropyl Alcohol to blend and spread the colors. Use a small blower tool to move the inks while wet. Set aside to dry.
Emboss the Vellum Panels
You can achieve interesting looks by embossing using the positive and negative sides of the embossing folders. I used the Foilage folder from Sizzix by Tim Holtz. When you feel the inside of embossing folders, one very definitely has details that pop up, in this case the stems and veins. Lay the top of vellum panel on top of the raised sides and emboss. For the next panel, lay the inked side down over the dimensional leaves.

The next step is to ink the raised areas with Archival Ink, which is permanent. Hold the ink pad flat over the panel and using a circular motion, not pressing too hard, ink the raised portions. You will notice on one, you will ink the stems and veins, while on the other the leaves themselves get inked. Which one do you like better?
Complete the Cards

Stardream Metallic is my favorite metallic cardstock. Die cut a leaf using Stardream Gold Metallic Cardstock. Die cut a thin frame using Stardream Metallic Antique Gold Cardstock.
Trim the alcohol panel to 4.0 x 5.25 inches. Attach to a Lessebo Flame A2 panel. Glue the leaf in the center of the alcohol panel and add the thin Antique Gold Frame around it. Attach to an A2 card base of Cougar 110 lb. White Cardstock (my favorite for card bases).

Follow the same steps above to create the card base. Die cut a sentiment of your choice in Stardream Metallic Gold. Die cut a thin frame using Stardream Metallic Antique Gold. Attach the frame first and then center the sentiment within the frame.
I challenge you to look through your embossing folders and try this technique! The 3D folders work the best for this technique.
