Snowflake Flip Card

Hello friends. Today I am sharing this fun snowflake flip card for CutCardStock featuring a sparkly snowflake!

Not only gorgeous outside, it flips when opened! I was inspired by @leeanngreff_flowerbug who posted this style card.

Create the Card Base

Cut two panels with Artic Blue Lessebo Cardstock, one 5.5 x 8.5 inches and the second panel 5.0 x 8.0 inches. Score the 8 inch piece at 2,4 and 6 inches on the short side and the 8.5 piece in half to form your A2 cardbase.

Use embossing ink to add sparkly snowflakes to the front of the A2 card base. I used Judikins White Diamond Embossing Powder.

Create the Sparkly Snowflake Emblem

Use Silk Glitter Opulent Opal Cardstock to die cut a large snowflake. This is a 12 x 12 inch pack of 10 sheets. I have used this cardstock many times to add glitter to my creations. I used Simon Says Stamp Shimmer Snowflake for my card. Die cut a hexagon shape close to the size of the large snowflake using Navy Blue Lessebo Cardstock. Glue the snowflake onto the navy base. Note: it is important you use a symmetrical image that can be centered on the card front.

Line the same hexagon die over the snowflake embossed front and die cut. Be sure to center two of the points in the center of the card base so it will flip properly.

Assemble the Snowflake Flip Card

You will need to stamp the inside sentiment prior to assembling as this card does not lay flat! Use a sentiment that is less than two inches wide and stacked to fit on the right scored panel. I used Prize Ribbon Distress Ink heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. At the same time, heat emboss a sentiment on the card front. I used a sentiment from Hero Arts Snowflake Bundle.

Attach the left 2 inch scored panel so the fold lines up with the points at the bottom and top of the hexagon opening.

Glue the right side of the scored panel to the inside of the A2 card base lined up with the right side of the card base so the center fold is a mountain fold. Close the card and attach the snowflake to the center section of the scored panel so the snowflake flips when opened.
