Creative Embossing Folder Techniques

Hello friends. Today I am posting for CutCardstock. We love the beach…We live in the Midwest and dream of going to the beach most days. Today I am sharing beachy cards using different embossing folder techniques. I hope you enjoy them.

Love all the color combinations!

Emboss the Base Panels

Use a variety of cardstock and Sizzix Under the Sea 3D Embossing Folder. Check out all the texture on this folder!

I used Cougar 100 lb. White CardstockNavy Lessebo and Saltwater Blue Lessebo to start these fun cards.

Check out the dimension! This is White Cougar 100 lb. Cardstock. The images pop after dragging Saltwater Taffy Distress ink over the embossed top!

Apply a gel glitter on the Navy Cardstock for interest.

This is Saltwater Leesebo with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. Note how this image is debossed. Add the color on the positive side of the embossing folder for a different effect!

Add a pop of color or glitter gel to all the Navy card panels you have created.

Create the Embellishments

Die cut the Starfish from Hero Arts Sea Shells Die Set. Use Silk Glitter Oppulent Opal for the white sparkly sea shells and Cougar 100 lb. White Cardstock for the coral colored starfish. Before cutting the coral pieces, run the Salt Water Taffy Distress ink pad over the Cougar Cardstock until a consistent color is achieved.

Stamp a beach related sentiment with Saltwater Taffy, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch on White Cougar Cardstock. Trim into strips and set aside.

Assemble the Cards

Trim a piece of DSC Flamingo Cardstock to 5.5 x 4.25 inch panels. Use the matt side of the cardstock and attach to an A2 card base.

Trim the coordinating embossed panel to 5.25 x 4.0 inches and attach to the card base. Attach a coordinating sentiment strip to the lower portion of the card. Add a coral starfish to the light blue and coral colored bases. Save the sparkly ones for the Navy Cardstock.

The Navy panel is trimmed as above and attached to a white card base with the sentiment and sparkly starfish attached.

Attach the Saltwater Panel to a white card base and add the coordinating sentiment and a coral starfish for a pop of color!

Note how different this panel looks. Drag your ink pad over the flat side of the embossing folder to color the background when embossing. Add the sentiment and another coral starfish!

Emboss the Envelopes

Add a new twist to your plain white envelopes by embossing the envelope flaps! I order Cougar Premium Envelopes by the box as I use so many!

Insert the flap into the embossing folder, folding the base around the flat side of the folder. Run through your die cut machine. Add color by running the ink pad over the raised images.
