Americana Card

What's more Americana than fireworks and flags? Hi friends. Today I am posting for CutCardStock!  featuring a card with all things American to celebrate the 4th.

With fireworks bursting, we celebrate the USA!

Create the Background

Use Metallic Cardstock for a little extra shine!

Trim a piece of Stardream Metallic Sapphire Blue cardstock to 5.5 x 8.5. This gives you lots of wiggle room when stamping background images. Place in your stamp positioner and center the Just Wishes Background stamp from Unity. This is not officially a firework stamp, but it sure looks like one! Add VersaMark Ink and stamp. Cover with Judikin's White Diamond Embossing Powder and heat set. Wow! We have fireworks! set this aside.

Create the Americana Embellishments

Trim a piece of StarDream Jupiter to 4.0 x 5.25 inches. Use a bold Alphabet Die to cut the letters USA from the center of the Jupiter Cardstock allowing room for a frame. I used Altenew's Caps Bold Alphabet set. Cut two additional letters from white cardstock and glue together. Set these aside.

Stamp the flag 4 times using Mini Birds Crazy Things in Black Pigment Ink and add clear embossing powder. After heat settings add red, blue and brown with watercolor markers. Fussy Cut the flags. Glue two together for the center flag leaving the other two 1 layer.

Assemble the Card

Start with a Cougar 100 lb. White Cardstock cardbase. I make my own by cutting 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock in half and scoring. Attach the Jupiter piece. Trim the Sapphire Firework piece to 3.75 x 5.0 and attach to the Jupiter cardstock.

Glue the U and A in the lower 1/3 of the front. Add the three American flags splayed to display them all! The final step is to add the S on top of the flag bases.

Wishing you a very Happy July 4th!
