Foiling on Metallic Cardstock? YES!

Hello friends, today I am posting for CutCardStock. I have a neglected Glimmer Machine and decided to give it ago with Metallic Cardstock.

Love the shine and the great background design using the Pink Fresh Geo Arches foiling and stencil set.

I have a video Here if you'd prefer to see the process. I even included how to foil the foiling plate!

Let's jump in and start foiling!

Check out the shine from the metallic cardstock! Start with a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of Stardream Aqualicious Cardstock. After heating the Glimmer Machine with the Geo Arches Foil Plate, use Turquoise Foil to add the image to your cardstock. The fun thing with these background foils is you can use the negative foil to create a whole new look by using a foiling solid plate.

Add Color to the Card Base

Use the coordinating stencils to add color to the card base. You only need to add two colors of ink with the Stardream Aqualicious Cardstock. This allows the base color to shine! Chose two blue colors and ink blend using the stencils. I used Tumbled Glass and Prize Ribbon Distress Inks.

Foil the Sentiment Piece

Chose a piece of the Metallic Cardstock and trim or die cut into a shape. Foil the selected sentiment onto the base piece.

Assemble the Card

Use your adhesive of choice to attach the stenciled piece to 100 lb. Cougar White Cardstock. I love to use at least 100 lb. Cardstock for my card bases!

Cut a second rectangle to add some dimension to the sentiment piece. Add adhesive and attach to the card front. A few pieces of bling add a special touch to the card!

Check out Two Additional Versions of the Card

This card uses Peacock Feathers and Salvages Patina Distress inks for the blending.

I love the heart sentiment base. This plate has my favorite words!

How about using warm colors?

This base is Cryogen White Curious Metallic Cardstock! See how the inks shine! I used Kitch Flamingo, Scattered Straw and Salt Water Taffy Distress inks to color this base.

The oval sentiment base can be inked to coordinate with the other colors!
