Rainbow Valentines Gift Boxes

Greetings Crafty Friends. I find myself in a rainbow mood.  I recently purchased this Eileen Hull die and challenged myself to do something fun with it for this posting for CutCardStock.com This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is houselineup1275.675.jpg

This blog post will detail the steps to create this fun and festive string of houses. This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is die.house900.900.jpgI started by cutting out 16 house bases using Savoy 100% Cotton Cardstock as I knew it would handle the water well. Each house required 2 pieces. I used my Misti to assure consistent placement across all of the house bases. This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is roofcu.jpgThe roofs and the lettering were created using a variety of matching colored Poptone cardstock. I LOVE the bright colors! The Poptone colors I used are Grape Jelly, Blue Rasberry, Lemon Drop, Orange Fizz , Granny Apple and Razzleberry. In addition I used Navy from my stash, and Red Wagon. I used this older Stampin' Up stamp to create the cute critters for the house fronts. The houses were attached to a long piece of twine so the grouping could be hung up. In addition to adding the critters, I also cut letters using the Tall Alpha Die from Altenew.  I used 4 layers of the coordinating colors as well as a white layer. They were stacked and glued together to spell Be Mine. This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is houselineup1275.675-2.jpg
