This blog post will detail the steps to create this fun and festive string of houses.
I started by cutting out 16 house bases using Savoy 100% Cotton Cardstock as I knew it would handle the water well. Each house required 2 pieces.

I white heat embossed this Hero Arts stamp. I used my Misti to assure consistent placement across all of the house bases.

I used distress inks in a rainbow of bright colors to smoosh the color on the house bases.
The roofs and the lettering were created using a variety of matching colored Poptone cardstock. I LOVE the bright colors!
The houses were assembled using red adhesive tape for strength.

I used this older Stampin' Up stamp to create the cute critters for the house fronts.

Here is a close up view of the final product. The houses were attached to a long piece of twine so the grouping could be hung up. In addition to adding the critters, I also cut letters using the Tall Alpha Die from Altenew. I used 4 layers of the coordinating colors as well as a white layer. They were stacked and glued together to spell Be Mine.
