Altenew Build-A-Flower: Crocus Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

I am so very excited to be participating in the June Build A Flower Release Blog Hop!  This month Altenew is featuring Crocus Flowers. You should have arrived from Kelly's blog.

Here is a photo of the five cards I made for the hop.

The first thing I do when I start with a new floral stamp set is to research possible colors.  Did you know Crocus can be pink and orange?  In the Midwest I see white, purple and yellow crocus, and had no clue they can in such a variety of colors!

I start by stamping and die-cutting variety of color combinations.  Look at the variety of colors! Next step is creating!

Here is the first card I created!

This rainbow beauty was created by embossing the detail layer with white embossing powder on watercolor cardstock.  I filled in the flowers using the Altenew Pan Watercolor set.

I added the black frame and band.  I heat embossed Hello from the Halftone Hello Stamp Set and Cut with the matching die.

This is my second card spotlighting the flowers in a different way.

The Watercolor Stripe Cover Die is a favorite and creates a wonderful frame.

This card began with a watercolor base using Altenew Pan Watercolors.  The Watercolor Stripe die was cut three times and layered for dimension.

The flowers were layered on top of the Watercolor and die frame.

The sentiment from the Versatile Vase Stamp set was added.

The next card is done in Kraft paper for a totally different look.

I started with the Leaf Burst Stencil.  I embossed and colored it with green ink.
The flowers are first stamped with white pigment ink and then restamped with colored inks.

The flowers and leaves were die cut and layered on the stencil.  The sentiment was added with a layer of white pigment ink followed by the green ink.

The next card is another layered dimensional card.

I started with a smooshed watercolor base.  The Cube Cover Die was cut from a piece of watercolor paper colored with grey paint from the Altenew Pan Watercolor set.

I trimmed the cover die to create a focal area for the sentiment.  This piece is popped up with foam squares.

The flowers and leaves are layered and attached. The sentiment is from the More Than Words Altenew set.

The final card is a bright and cheery single layer card created with white embossing and blending.

Again the detail layers were white heat embossed.  The inks were blended over the embossing.

The sentiment was heat embossed to finish the card.
