Hello friends. I'm posting another colorful tag for The Funkie Junkie Boutique featuring friendships. I had a great time creating this tag with its multiple layers of inky goodness! Check out all the talented designer's project on their Blog Here.
My BFF Heidi and I spend most Saturdays together crafting. I decided to create this tag using a pair of friends in addition to crafty themed ephemera and an old paintbrush!
The video is here:
Start by trimming a piece of Mixed Media Heavyweight Distress Cardstock to match a Mini Etcetera Tag. Smoosh Old Paper and Antique Linen Oxide Inks on the craft mat, spritz with water and run your fingers through to create droplets. Dip the cardstock into the mix repeatedly, heat drying between dips. You can spritz with more water to help the inks move. Once the piece is dry, clear the mat and smoosh Tea Dye ink on the mat, spritzing and breaking up into droplets before dipping the tag into the mixture.
Use the small circle from the Brushstrokes Stamp set to add color to the base. I used Scattered Straw, Spun Sugar and Speckled Egg Distress inks to get a cool base of color.
Using one of the Fragment Stamps, add the images to the tag base with Pumice Stone Ink. Stamp randomly to get good coverage.
Last addition is a stamp using one of the new mini stencils. Run the ink pad over the center and be sure to wipe off of the solid edge. Lay the stencil ink side down and smooth out with your fingers. Repeat as you like.
Color the paper doll of your choice using Distress Crayons. I have started coloring directly onto the dolls and water coloring with water.
Choose your additional pieces. I die Cut the word friend twice using Gold Currency Cardstock and stacked them together.
Emboss and Die Cut the sentiment "Out of limitations comes Creativity". I did cut the base out two additional time to stack it.
Select a few pieces of crafty ephemera. An old paintbrush adds interest. The butterfly is from Brushstroke Butterfly Die. I always have extras.
Assemble the tag using Collage Medium. After applying the base background, I used Black Archival Ink to stamp the small label at the top. Check your stash for fun additions like this! Glue the additional pieces onto the tag.
After all the ephemera is attached, created a fluffy bow using seam binding. I love this stuff becasue you can dye it with distress inks! Use Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Scattered Straw to dye the ribbon. Tie to the opening at the top and you are good to go.
