See how this Spooky Halloween Lantern came together! Hi. Today I am posting for CutCardStock.
Use Honey Bee Stamps Lantern Builder Die to die cut four lantern base panels using Lessebo Coffee Bean Cardstock. Royal Sundance Kraft Cardstock is perfect for the base and tops of the lantern. After cutting the tops and bottoms, run through a woodgrain embossing folder and add brown ink to highlight the grain. The 105 lb. Translucent Vellum allows for stamping and coloring yet allows the light to come through! Cut six ghosts from Cougar 100 lb. white cardstock.
Create the Spooky Lantern Sides!
Begin by stamping images on the vellum, making sure the position will land the image in the center of the large open square. I used images from @StampersAnonymous and @TimHoltz. Be sure to use an archival ink so you will be able to add some color using alcohol markers. Glue the vellum panels to the insides of the brown lantern bases.
Sandwich two ghosts between a 1/4 x 2 inch piece of acetate. Be sure they face the same way!
Assemble the Spooky Halloween Lantern
Cut a 1/2 inch strip of Coffee Bean Cardstock. Trim to 4 inch pieces and score lengthwise in the middle. Assemble the lantern by gluing the strips on the inside of the panels to form a box. Attach the ghosts on the acetate strips randomly. I used three ghosts. Add the Kraft embossed top over the acetate strip holding the ghosts. Add the Kraft Embossed bases at the bottom.
Create the lantern floor by cutting Coffee Bean Cardstock to 4.75 x 4.75 inches. Score 1/4 inch in on all sides. Cut the corner box out of the four corners. Use a score tool to strengthen the folds. Add tape runner of liquid glue and carefully insert the floor into the box.
Add a battery-operated tea light and you are ready to display!
