Altenew August 2022 Endless Ambition Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)

Hello friends. I'm so excited to be posting for Altenew's Endless Ambition Release and hop. The hop starts Here. Today we are exploring Hot Foil Techniques with another fun stamp, stencil die cut release.

This exciting release is chock full of possibilities for every crafter. Hot foil plates with coordinating stencil sets are the focus, but we have also included some beautiful die sets. Feathers, flowers, greenery, and sentiments will find their way to your projects this month. Lastly, Timeless Tulips (an exclusive retreat collection from July) will be available along with this release!

I used several techniques that I will share today using the Flowery Bouquet Set.

First up is the Foiling on Vellum Technique. It is so easy and what a unique look. I have a video posted here: https://youtu.be/IWLoWD0tYUI

I used the Flowery Bouquet Hot Foil Plate to add the image to Vellum. It has such an ethereal look to it. I taped a piece of watercolor paper to the bottom of the vellum to provide a lever so I could add watercolor from the Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brushes to the base.

Next, I added the watercolor using the brushes, adding water, spritzing with water and drying the panel in between the colors. It was a hot mess when I finished, but once the Vellum panel was added, I was happy. I trimmed the vellum down as well as the watercolor panel to 3.75 x 5 inches. The vellum was attached to the watercolor piece with red tape by wrapping the edges to the backside.

A black cardstock panel was added to the watercolor panel and attached to an A2 card base.
Celebrate from the Sweet Sentiments Hot Foil Plate and Die Set completes this card.

Next up is a card made from the negative image. Love the deep shine on this one!

After foiling one panel, I foiled the negative foil to create this gorgeous card.

The sentiment is from the Sweet Sentiments set foiled in the same color and die cut. How simple is that?

Next up is the card that used the floral image from above. I used rainbow foil to create the spiral background using the Rainbow Burst Hot Foil Plate.

I went for a rainbow floral set using the matching stencils, Fresh Lemon, Turquoise and Fuschia inks to create addition colors by layering the inks. I fussy cut the blooms and attached to the Rainbow Burst base with a black strip of cardstock and the word Thanks foiled in the same color!

How about a rainbow negative panel?

You need your sunglasses for this one! I trimmed the panel and added to an A2 card base. Celebrate is done in a pink color foil.

I really didn't like the celebrate directly on the base so I pulled out The Crystal Frames Die and created a frame. It is two stacked frames for dimension. I cut another frame set out and am using the center piece as a base for the sentiment.

This is the Rainbow Burst Hot Foil Plate in Silver Foil. I used the Lapis Lazuli Ink Family and the Rainbow Burst Stencil Set to add color, leaving one swirl white for contrast.

The thanks sentiment is cut from white cardstock and silver glitter cardstock. A slightly larger panel of silver glitter cardstock sets off the Rainbow Burst.

The final Rainbow Burst Card is using the brand new foil from Altenew to be released very soon.

I used the Brass Foil to create this image and sentiment. After the images were foiled on an A2 cardbase, I used the coordinating stencils to color the images. Inks used were Sweet Leaf from the Green Meadows set, Fresh Lemon from the Pocketful of Sunshine set, and pink inks for the Cherry Blossom set.

The coordinating frame was created by using the out negative piece after die cutting the Mega Stamp Frame Die.

That is the last of the foiling projects. I'd like to share two additional projects from this amazing release!

First up is the Dreamy Feathers Die Set, a die set that provides great depth and dimension. I die cut the outline with Gold Currency Cardstock from CutCardStock. The next layers are cut from 2 lighter colors of metallic cardstock. Electric Blue was used for the final layer.

After gluing all the layers, the feathers were mounted on an A2 panel cut from Curious Metallic Electric Blue Cardstock. Essential Sentiments Die was cut from the Gold Currency Cardstock backed with a lighter blue metallic cardstock.

Last up is a gorgeous fun card made with the new Timeless Tulips Set. This is a gorgeous Stamp, Die and Stencil Set!

I stamped the tulips in the paper holder four times on Classic Crest White Cardstock with Black Obsidian Ink. I used the stencil set to ink blend Wisteria and Hydrangea inks from the Enchanted Garden set for the tulips. After die cutting the blooms, I trimmed the paper holder section off of all for images.

I created that sweet envelope using my envelope punch board and paper from an older Altenew set.

The background is a piece of Amethyst Stardream Metallic trimmed to 4.5 x 6 inches and embossed using the Tiled Chevron Embossing Folder.

I created a 5 x 6.5 inch base from Classic Crest, mounted the Amethyst Cardstock on top. I arranged the tulip blooms and attached them to the envelope.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the stamp set.
