Emboss Backgrounds for Different Looks

Hello Crafty Friends! Today I am sharing the newest Spark Joy Set Sweet Greetings from Altenew. I had too much fun creating three unique cards with this set!

I had too much fun changing up ink colors for different types of birds. I used the bluebirds and the Robin inspired birds for my cards. I pre colored multiple birds using a variety of colors prior to assembling the cards. For the Bluebirds, use Ultramarine, Limestone, Cloudy Night and Charcoal Suit. Note: I cleaned the stencils and colored it in reverse for the inside of the window card. For the Robin inspired bird use Expresso, Silver Stone, Marigold and Red Jasper. You will need a couple of branches. Use Raw Umber, Expresso and Mocha for those.

Let's start with the window card!

Start by lining up an A2 panel with an A2 card base and die cut a circle window. Emboss the panel using the Garden Harmony Embossing Folder. Prior to embossing. run a Green Meadows Ink Pad over the textured side of the folder. This will deboss the panel with green leaves. Glue the branch to the front of the card base. Add the embossed panel, sandwiching the branch between the card panel and card base.

Attach one Bluebird to the card front. Open the card and add the mirror image to the inside, matching the edges up.

Die cut the sweet greetings using a dark blue cardstock and glue to the card front. Add black sequins for the eyes.

Next card uses the Garden Harmony Embossing Folder as the base. Emboss an A2 card panel with the folder and ink the textured side with Green Fields ink. Attach to an A2 card base.

Glue two Bluebirds to the card front and add black sequins for the eyes.

Die cut the Sweet Greetings with black cardstock. Die cut three shadows using grey cardstock. Layer the shadow, add the sentiment and attach to the card front.

I used the hot foil plate from the set for next card except it is not hot foiled! It is ink embossed on cotton paper!

Fussy cut the arch and use foam to mount on an A2 Kraft card base. Glue the branch at the bottom of the arch.

Add the Robin inspired bird. Add a black sequin for the eye. Die cut the hello sentiment three times from white cardstock, stack and add to the bottom.
