Dynamic Duo Houseplants from Altenew

Hello friends! I absolutely do not have a green thumb, but I had a blast creating these hanging plants cards! Introducing the Hanging Houseplants Dynamic Duo set from Altenew.

Check out the variety of affects you can achieve by simply changing up the backgrounds!

The wicker background card is my favorite so we will start there.

Die cut an oval opening on Kraft cardstock. Use Chocolate Brown ink and run on top of the textured side of the Wicker Texture 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the Kraft cardstock. Center the opening on a Natural Cougar A2 card panel to determine where to add the house plant.

Select one of the plants and pots and use the stencil with Mini Blending Brushes to ink the plants. I used a variety of Altenew Green Inks including Parrot, Hunter Green, Shadow Creek, and Grass Fields for the leaves. You will be doing 2 plants exactly the same so you can layer them.

Start by stamping the hanger and then the pot.  This will identify where the leaves go in the pot. Note the pot has additional texture that was created by adding a stencil on top and adding a darker color. Once you have stenciled both images, fussy cut one. Stamp the sentiment in the oval opening.

Attach the stenciled card panel to an A2 card base. Use brown thread for the upper plant. Thread from front to back and the back to front on the pot. Be sure you have enough thread to go to the top of the oval. Pop up the fussy cut plant and pot using Altenew's Foam Tape. Get ready to attach the wicker piece to the front of the card by adding adhesive. Pull the thread end tight, meeting at the top of the oval. Use hot glue to attach. Add the wicker piece and you are done!

I did two additional versions using the houseplants.

This one has the hanger stamped in black ink and uses all three images. Stencil the pots in blues using Iceberg, Eastern Sky and Ultramarine. Add a darker patterned layer using stencils. Create an extra set of the pots as well so you can add layers. Fussy cut the second set of pots and attach to the card front. Coated with clear glaze. All you need now is the coordinating panel and a sentiment.

This fun card is stamped and stenciled just like the previous on. Use Natural Cardstock instead of white and stencil the background with a light blue ink using the Halftone Stencil
