Altenew June 2023 Stamps, Dies, Stencil, Hot Foil Plate, Embossing Folder Release

 Oh friends this is an amazing release! Altenew has just released their new products with a very Morrocan feel. Check out the entire release HERE. My favorite product from this release is the Morrocan Tile Embossing folder! I am showing three different ways to use the folder.

Create the Card Panel Base

I will start with my favorite card the one on the left in the photo above.

Create the base by water coloring stripes using colors from Altenew's 36 pan Watercolors on watercolor paper. Be sure to heat dry between the stripes so the colors don't blend together. Once the panel is dry, add embossing ink to the raised side of the Morrocan Tile Folder. Emboss the panel using your die cut machine making sure to deboss the painted side.

Add gold embossing powder to the front of the panel. Use a paper towel to wipe away any excess powder left on the flat portion.

Create the Sentiment

Hot foil your sentiment of choice using Altenew's Brass Hot Foil. Die Cut the sentiment as well as a space at the bottom of the card panel to insert the sentiment in. Trim the card panel to 4 by 5.25 inches

Assemble the Card

Trim a piece of mat gold cardstock to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Attach to an A2 card base using Altenew's Glue Tape Runner.

Attach the watercolor piece to the front of the gold panel using a combination of white glue and the Glue Tape Runner.

Insert the sentiment into the opening on the card front.

Next up is an ink blended background using rainbow colors of Andromada, Teal Cave, Olive ___________. 

Create the Card Panel

Start by ink blending a white card panel using a rainbow of Altenew Ink Pads. Be sure to make the colors intense. Emboss the panel using the Moroccan Tile Embossing Folder.

Use a sanding block to remove the top area of the embossing to expose the white core. Hot foil the sentiment using Altenew's Brass Foil and die cut with the Nesting Slimline Labels die. Cut two additional labels for adding depth.

Assemble the Card

Trim the embossed piece to 4.0 x 5.25 inches and attach to an A2 card base using the Glue Tape Runner. Stack two additional labels under the foiled label and attach to the lower right section of the card allowing it to hang over the edge. Trim to the edge of the base. Add a few gold sequins and you are good to go!

Last up is an ink smooshed very colorful background. Did you know you can ink smoosh with Altenew Inks?

Create the Card Panel

This one started out a little bit of a hot mess when I placed orange and purple inks too close together. Luckily I was working on a larger piece of watercolor cardstock and was able to trim down.

Smoosh ink cubes onto your craft mat using Andromeda, Teal Cave, Olive and orange inks. Add a spritz of water and run your fingers through the inks. Run the watercolor paper through the inks to cover most of the base. Be careful not to go back through the orange and purple area.

Heat dry the first layer and add more of the cool colors to get the drips. Be sure the panel is dry before proceeding.

Emboss the panel. Run an embossing Ink Pad over the top and sprinkle with embossing powder. It is highly likely that you will end up with embossing powder on the base in addition to the raised areas. Use a small dry brush to remove the powder from the base.

Heat set the panel and trim to 3.75 x 5.0 inches.

Create the Sentiment

Check out this sparkly sentiment! Use Altenews Glitter Cardstock to cut the Tiny Sentiments - Hello die to cut both a glittery and a white hello. Glue the glitter hello on the top of the white one, off-setting slightly to expose the white sentiment.

Assemble the Card

Attach the embossed panel to an A2 card and attach to the base. Add the sentiment and you are good to go!
