Slimline Trellis Card

Hello Crafty Friends! I am posting for CutCardStock today. Have you seen all the fun Trellis cards posted recently? I was inspired to create a Slimline Trellis Card using white wood cardstock as the base.

Create the Trellis

Start by cutting the base using Cougar 100 lb. White Cardstock to 4.0 x 9.25 inches. Cut the White Woodgrain Cardstock to 4.0 by 2.50 and 4.0 x 1.00 inches. Cut the woodgrain cardstock lengthwise to 1/2 inch strips with the woodgrain oriented lengthwise. Note: four of the strips need to be at least eight inches long.

Start assembling the trellis by scoring the 2.50 inch piece lengthwise at 1/4 inch. This will form the top base for the trellis. Glue this piece to the top of the Cougar base. Line two of the long woodgrain strips vertically leaving about 1/2 inch gap at the sides. Glue to the top piece.

Cut four strips at 4.0 inches and glue to the back of the long vertical strips. Layer a second long strip on top of the long and short strips and glue in place starting at the inside of the top flap.

Glue the 1 inch piece of woodgrain cardstock to the front, making sure the bottom pieces line up. Add a second to the inside of the card sandwiching the long strip edges between the two pieces. Set aside to dry.

Create the Flowers

I chose the Morning Glory Stamp and Die Set from Altenew as it is a bright climbing vine flower (affiliate link used).

Use your stamp positioner and stamp multiple flowers and leaves on Cougar 80. lb White Cardstock. Use the coordinating dies to cut all the blooms and leaves out. Be sure to cut additional white blooms and leaves out. These will be used to glue inside the card to add strength.

Put Your Card Together

Now for the fun part! You already assembled the trellis. Now let’s decorate it with the blooms.

Arrange the stamped blooms and leaves on the left side of the trellis and across the top piece to be the illusion of a climbing floral plant. Glue the floral pieces to the trellis only. Open the card and match the white die cuts. Glue those in place inside.

Stamp a couple of sentiment strips to add the front of the card. I used the Bold Sentiments stamped in Black (Altenew Affiliate Link https://shrsl.com/410k3).
