Red and Green - Not Just for the Holidays

Hello friends. Today I am posting four cards for the Altenew April Inspiration Challenge

My first card uses the Leaf Frame Die in addition to the Tulip Full Bloom Layering Die Set.

Check out all the texture on this one. The background is created using two Leaf Frame Dies with one rotated 180 degrees.

The Craft A Flower Tulip Full Bloom Layering Die set is amazing! So many layers! After die cutting all the pieces from watercolor paper, I used a variety of reds and greens from the 36 Pan Artist Watercolor set to add color and dimension! The bloom edges were swiped with Velvet ink cubes for depth.

The Tiny Sentiments Wishing Die is perfect for this card. The small sentiment is heat embossed in white after die cutting. Two layers adds the dimension. Black Gesso splatter adds interest!

Next up is a Vellum Window card! The background texture is created using the Wicker Texture Embossing Folder. The oval was cut prior to embossing the front panel. Vellum was inserted between the card base and the textured panel.

The roses from The Rose Filament Die Set was used to cut the blooms from 100 lb. Cougar White Cardstock. Watercolor Brushes from the Tropical Fiesta set were used to color the die cuts after stacking two together. They blooms were then glued on the window and a third die cut was pasted on the inside of the card to cover the die cuts.

Happy Anniversary from the Essential Sentiments set is the perfect accent. Add a few black Gesso splatters and you are done!

How about some sparkle and shine? The next card using the Delicate Dragonflies has both!

Check out all that texture. The base panel was created by dry embossing the Wave Panel Die four times on the white card base.

The green metallic paper was attached to a white panel using Altenew Adhesive Sheets and dry embossed. After trimming the panel, Altenew Foam Tape was used to pop up the green panel.

Red and Black Cardstock from my stash was used for the wing bases and the body. Check out the sparkle achieved by cutting the wings using Altenews Glitter Cardstock!

The Dragonfly was glued on the green metallic panel and another Essential Elemenst Sentiment backed in gold glitter paper completes the look.

Last up is a water colored Embossed Image on Opal Curious Metallic Cardstock.

The images are colored using the 36 Pan Watercolor Set from Altenew. This set has yummy colors and highlighted the blooms very well.

After coloring the blooms, I added Fresh Leaf Green to the leaves using the Tropical Fiesta Watercolor Brushes. The blue background was achieved by outlining the images with blue from the brush set and adding water with a brush to smooth out the colors. Sentiments from Bold Sentiments were black heat embossed and layered on two additional strips before adding to the panel.
