Hello friends! I am posting for The Funkie Junkie Boutique today. The current challenge is April Showers bring May flowers. There are prizes. The deets are on The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog. I am still on my Etcetera Tag kick so I present this floral layered mixed media tag!
This one uses many layers of mixed media techniques. It all started with the new Doily Embossing Folder. I love this folder!
I knew inks were in the plans and I wanted the doily to really stand out against the background colors. I embossed the upper left and lower right corners of a Heavyweight Distress Cardstock cut in half. After embossing, I swiped a VersaMark pad lightly over the raised images and coated with clear embossing powder. Be sure to check the image as you may have loose powder in areas outside the image. A small dry brush easily removes the powder. Heat emboss.
It is now time to ink the panel using Old Paper and Antique Linen, Saltwater Taffy (a new fav) and Speckled Egg ink and oxide sprays. I used my spray box and started with the Old Paper and Antique Linen to generously color the paper and heat dried before moving onto the Saltwater Taffy and Speckled Egg Sprays. Once done, I heat dried the panel and stitched around the edges and set aside.
I have a video posted if you would rather watch that. The link is here: https://youtu.be/7h01r33F0Cw.
It is now time to assemble the parts! I dyed seam binding with Saltwater Taffy and created bot a small bow for the frame and the top of the tag.
