Altenew has done it again! Check out the new gorgeous CandyStripe Cosmos Build a Flower. This set is so beautiful and detailed! I am part of a Blog Hop and Giveaway that begins Here. You should have arrived from Natasha Davies blog.
You will be as happy as a kid in a candy shop when you play with these unique layering stamps! This set features a gorgeous, elaborately showy candystripe cosmos flower with a branch and a leaf that you are sure to love. We have also included a few silhouettes of leafy branches perfect for adding stunning background patterns and foliage to your projects.
I had so much fun playing with all the textures and layers created by using additional dies. I always begin my project by stamping multiple images. Today I am featuring the Rose Petal Ink Cube set as well as the Green Field set.
Once I had all the floral images stamped and die cut on Cougar 80lb. White Cardstock, I began to design my projects. I am on a kick with Slimline Cards lately so I'll begin with that one. For the texture on the background, I used the Nesting Slimline Label die set. I used a deep magenta cardstock from my stash cut to 3 1/4 by 9 inches so I would have a border all around. After lining them up and adding tape to hold them, I ran them through my die cut machine using the embossing pad.
I added the embossed layer to a card base of Cougar 80 lb White Cardstock. I used three of the floral images and arranged them on the card base.
The sentiment if from the stamp set. Look closely and you'll see it appears there are three different sizes of labels when in fact, there is only one of the dies used. I die-cut the smallest nesting label form white and pink cardstock. I left the top label the original size and cut the other two in the middle and spaced them out. A few blingy pieces finish the card!
I have a video showing how I created both cards below. I'd love to have you subscribe to my channel so you can see all the fun things I am up to!
The next card takes advantage of the great texture from the Leaf Frame Cover Die. I love how the frame highlights this gorgeous flower!
After die-cutting the frame from a deep grey cardstock and gluing two layers together for dimension, I trimmed a piece of matching pink cardstock to a size just between the two frames.
The pink rectangle is mounted to the leaf frame and attached to an A2 cardbase cut from
The Fancy Hello die is cut from the gray and White Cougar Cardstock and glued together. After popping up the flower with foam tape, I attached it to the center of the card and added the Hello die on top to complete it. I created the sentiment strip with the sentiment from the Sentiment Strips set mounted on a piece of the pink cardstock.
