Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Carolina Allspice Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hello friends I am thrilled to be back with the new Craft A Flower Carolina Allspice release from Altenew. The entire blog hop starts HERE, and we have giveaways.

I was not at all familiar with this flower so I did some research to come up with the colors. I love the textures and depths created for these cards!

I went to my very large stash of cardstock to find pink hues as well as the soft green grays. As with all my layered die cut images, I cut a variety of pieces in different color families and assembled the layers.

These are the two final color schemes I landed on. I really can't decide which is my favorite!

The Garden Harmony 3D folder provided the perfect contrast and background to these flowers. After embossing on 80 lb. Cougar White Cardstock, I simply swiped the embossed piece with Frayed Leaf Ink from the Green Fields Mini Cube set. I love how the two layers of leaves pick the color up differently. I then attached the base to a card base made with 110 lb. Cougar White Cardstock.

The Thanks die from the set was cut twice and layered. A top-coat of Nuvo Glaze adds dimension and a glossy appearance. After the die cut dried, the only thing left is to play with the arrangement.

It is very hard to choose a favorite! This card began using 80 lb. Cougar Natural Cardstock for both the base and the front plate. I measured the center portion of the frame and created a template so I could cut the center piece out. The opening is 2 3/4ish by 3.5ish. I know there is no ish in measuring, but the opening is just slightly large. I took a pencil and centered the template on the opening and drew around it in pencil. Using my Fiskars cutter, I was able to cut the opening.

I swiped Versamark ink over the raised portions of the frame and coated with gold embossing powder. Once heat dried, I was able to fill in the gaps.

Check out the video here:

I backed the opening with a piece of grey green paper, dry embossed using the Ribbon Waves Embossing Folder.

All that was left was to cut the Thanks out and gold emboss to match and then to assemble the card.
