Timekeeper Layered Vintage Etcetera Tag

Hello Junkies! I am posting my new tag for the Funkie Junkie Challenge named "Time has a wonderful way of showing us what really matters" on The Funkie Junkie Blog. I decided when I joined the Design Team that my focus would be on decor Tags. I love displaying different tags throughout our home. Here is the tag I created for the new challenge.

Vintage Label Layered Ephemera Cards

Hello crafty friends and lover of layered ephemera!  I had a blast creating cards using the Vintage Text Label digital set from TaylorMadeCards4U. My first thought was how interesting are labels, but once I downloaded the set, I saw multiple possibilities! Today I am sharing two soap label cards and will post another a little later this month! There is a YouTubeHop for this set.

Today I will focus on the card in the upper left and lower right.

I love blue and white, so this one quickly became a favorite! The American Soap label from the kit was enlarged and printed. I mounted it on a piece of kraft cardstock and tied the twine around it.

The base started by stamping a large flower stamp from Stampers Anonymous on Cream CardStock using Weathered Wood Distress ink. This piece was trimmed and mounted on a Kraft A2 base.

I needed a focal area to really set this card off. I ink smooshed watercolor paper in Bundled Sage and Weathered Wood Distress Inks. Once dry, I die cut the Sizzix Bloom Colorize Die and assembled the flowers.

I think this is one of my favorite cards in this set! Next we are off to the circus!

The Circus Soap label was just calling for a clown and circus themed elements! This card started with the ticket background printed for A Day at the Circus Digital Kit.

I added a few vintage pieces. The Circus soap label was mounted on the same red cardstock used for the base and trimmed. I added a couple of layers of cardstock to pop the label up and added the twenty-five cents label from the Vintage Text Labels set.

The clown was fussy cut from one of the elements and popped up on the lower right section with his hands to look like he is holding the soap label.

Here is a video on my YouTube channel documenting the process:

Monochromatic Challenge Card

Hello friends! Today I am posting a Monochromatic Card idea for A Blog Named Hero. I admit I struggle with Monochromatic cards. I am a full color girl. I came up with this warm color card for the challenge post!

Layered Vintage Etcetera Tag

Hello friends. I am here presenting this Royal Themed Tag for The Funkie Junkie Boutique's June 2nd Challenge. Upload your project on the Funkie Junkie Challenge Blog. You could win a $25.00 gift card to The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

I am planning to do a series of decorative Etcetera Tags over the next few months. I love to display fun tags in our home.

This week's challenge is I'm Feeling like Royalty in honor of the Queen of the UK. Think crowns, castles, elegant and regal patterns or gilding with touches of gold. I chose purple and gold for this fun project.

I started by painting the extra small etcetera tag with grey paint. I applied Collage Paper that had been stamped with an image from the Stamper's Anonymous Architecture Stamp. By using Distress Collage Medium, the surface was prepped for adding color using Distress Crayons. I used Dusty Concord and Antique Bronze and scribbled the colors on the board. I smeared the color just using a wet finger to smooth it out.

The next step was to apply Distress Grit Paste through the Flourish Stencil. I added some purple embossing powder randomly over the stenciled paste and gently heat dried.

The Sizzix Bigz Cathedral Window made the perfect base for the flower and sentiment. I used the die and layered 3 windows, but the Etcetera Cathedral Window would work if you pained it gold.

Brush Strokes Flower #1 was perfect as an embellishment. I die cut the flowers and leaves from purple  and gold cardstock. Isn't the dimension great?

The Tiny Text Stamp from Stamper's Anonymous has become one of my go to sets! Such a great variety of sentiments to choose from.  I gold embossed the sentiment on a purple strip and added 2 additional layers for dimension.

We'd love to have you join in on the challenge by uploading your projects on The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog. Check out the large selection of Tim Holtz as well as Graphic 45, Stamperia and other great vintage products on the store site.
