Timekeeper Layered Vintage Etcetera Tag

Hello Junkies! I am posting my new tag for the Funkie Junkie Challenge named "Time has a wonderful way of showing us what really matters" on The Funkie Junkie Blog. I decided when I joined the Design Team that my focus would be on decor Tags. I love displaying different tags throughout our home. Here is the tag I created for the new challenge.

So grungy and fun!

It all started with the Mini Etcetera Tag.  I painted the tag with White Gesso to start.  I used a brayer to cover the tag with Distress Rusty Hinge and Salvaged Patina Paints.
Next is stamping a script stamp using Vintage Photo Archival Ink. I used Stampers Anonymous Ledger Stamp, but any script Stamp will do. The sentiment is from an early Tim Holtz stamp, stamped in Black Archival Ink.

I created this focal piece next using the Winged 3D Embossing folder from Sizzix and a Ideology Baseboard Doll. I used a Vintage Photo Distress Crayon to color the man's suit.
The Angel Wings were cut and embossed on Cream Cougar Cardstock using the Sizzix Winged 3D Impresslit Folder. I covered th ewings in Embossing Ink and added Salvaged Patina Embossing Glaze. After heat embossing I applied Vintage Photo Distress Crayon and rubbed it into the cracks.

The last piece is the clock face. I used the Sizzix Timekeeper Bigz Die to cut the image from Chipboard. After coating with white Gesso, I coated it with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink and added an embossing powder from my stash.

Check out the video on my YouTube Channel documenting the process. I'd love to have you subscribe while you are there!

On to assembly!

I used Distress Collage Medium to attach the pieces to the tag. I started with an Ideology Filmstrip from my stash layered with the clock face. The winged gentleman was attached on top. The seambinding is colored with Rusty Hinge and Salvaged Patina Distress Inks and tied on with twine.

Check out the final product with all the grungy goodness! Deets on entering the challenge are on the Funkie Junkie Blog! Join in the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'd love to have you follow/subscribe on my social media sites Instagram, Facebook, Blogger and You Tube.  Be well. Be creative!

  1. What a fantastic tag Teri. The way you've altered those wings and the clock face to coordinate and add to the fabulous background make such a difference to the finished tag and your choice of sentiment is such a good one for this challenge x
