Soft Window Card with a Bonus Card!

Hello friends! I am posting today for the Altenew Educators Instagram Hop. The hop starts at @altenewllc on Instagram. Join me as I demonstrate the steps to create these fun cards inspired by a recent post by @Jennifer McGuire.

The first card has a soft window on the front.

Purple is my favorite color and I love this Build a Flower Hyacinth Stamp and Die set! The ink set used is the Wisteria and Green Fields set. I started by stamping both flowers on a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of Cougar 80 lb. paper as well as on the inside right side of a 5.5 x 11 inch piece of paper. Isn't the Misti a wonderful tool for repeat stamping in the same place?

Next step was to cut the window in the front of the A2 card as well as on the 4.25 x 5.5 piece of cardstock stamped with the images. It is easy to assure the die cut lines up by matching the two pieces. A small piece of tape along the edge helps the cut be accurate. You can always run the lower piece through if the cut is not complete. I cut another layer to add depth to the front.

The Halftone Stencil provided some interest on the front. The right side was trimmed by 1/4 inch to allow for a purple strip for interest.  The sentiment from the Dotted Blooms Stamp and Die set was white heat embossed on a piece of purple cardstock popped up on the lower part of the card.

I decided to soften the card by adding a vellum piece to the inside of the card. The vellum also helped to stabilize the thin cuts. A few bright bling really completes the card.

The second card is really a bonus created with the windows from the first card!

I layered the stamped piece on a few additional pieces to strengthen the pieces and add depth to the flowers.  The printed paper is from the Essential Rock Collection Paper Pad. A few 1/4 inch strips on each side adds interest.

The stamp is from the Floral Sprigs stamp set stamped with the Wisteria ink.  A few embellishments add bling!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'd love to have you follow/subscribe on my social media sites Instagram, Facebook, Blogger and You Tube.  Be well. Be creative!
