Style It With Stencils Altenew Educator Hop

Hello friends!  I am posting today for the Altenew Educators Style it with Stencils Blog Hop.  You should have arrived here from Erin Thompson's Blog.  The blog starts here on the Altenew Card Blog

I have four cards for you today along with three videos!

I think this is my favorite of the bunch - a mixed media background with the gorgeous Inked Lotus flower.  I started by pushing embossing paste through the Grid Stencil. Once dry, I added Lagoon Ink and allowed the ink to run down the base.

The inked Lotus was stamped and watercolored using Altenew's Tropical Watercolor Bush set.  I am loving the vibrant colors!  Check out the video here:

My next card uses the Leaf Burst Stencil along with Embossing Paste and Distress Embossing Glaze from Ranger.

Look at all that shiny goodness on the embossing paste!

I take you through creating the background in this short video here:

The next card uses the Sweet Spring Stencil with the Broken Chevrons Stencil.  I am loving the layered Stencils Altenew has been creating lately!

Check out the layered goodness on this card!

The video is here:

My final card uses trapped embossing to capture shiny roses from The Rose Bouquet Stencil.

I started by ink blending the flowers with Baby Pink ink and adding Fushia ink for dimension.  The leaves are blended with Fresh Leaf and Lime green inks.  I cleaned and matched the stencil to the image before stamping with Versa Mark ink and adding clear embossing powder.

Once the images were heat embossed, I blended Eastern Sky ink through the Halftone grid stencil. I love the contrast between the shiny flowers and the background. I added an embossed sentiment from the Fancy Greeting set and framed the image on a pink background!

  10. Beautiful cards!! I actually have the stencil you used on your last one and was able to make some pretty cards with it recently, and it was so easy!! I also love the flower layering stencils that have been coming out! I can't color worth a hoot, but it's easy to "color" using inks with the stencils!
