New technique with Embossing Folders

Hello friends. Today I am posting an entry for the Altenew April Inspiration Challenge. The color pallet was so unique, I had to jump in! I am using a much different technique with Embossing Folders.

Create the Card Base Panel

Start with a watercolor panel. Emboss with your choice of embossing folders. I used Garden Harmony.

Swipe the Nimbus Ink Pad over the top of the folder adding a deeper level of color to the higher embossed leaves.

Spritz generously with water and rotate the panel around to be sure all areas are affected. The water will add color to the entire background and darken some of the less embossed leaves. So pretty. Dry with your heat tool, trim to 3.75 x 5.0 inches and set aside.

I love how the ink strategically bled to cover the base!

Create the Floral Image and Sentiment

Hot foil the Freesia Bloom and Sentiment of your choice from the Encouraging Sentiments Hot Foil sets on White Cougar Cardstock.

Use Nimbus, Heart Beat and Snapdragon ink pads to ink blend the blooms. Be sure to blend the Heart Beat ink towards the center of the petals for dimension.

Use the coordinating Dies to cut the images. Die cut two blank images to layer the bloom and sentiment. Glue together.

Assemble the Card

Cut an A2 panel using Silver StarDream Metallic Cardstock and attach to an A2 card base. Glue the bloom to the right side of the card and the sentiment to the lower portion of the card.
