Gelli Plate Embossed Floral Blooms

Hello friends. I am back to present the details for my Gelli plate backgrounds I created with the new Sunshine Blossoms Embossing Folder from Altenew. This release is part of the July 2022 Summer Love Release Blog Hop. Check out the complete Embossing Folder Release on my YouTube Channel HERE. The Blog Hop begins HERE

I had so much fun playing with the Gelli Plate for the backgrounds.

Check out all the great color and the way the colors blend together to create new hues. I used Hydrangea, Turquoise, Lime, Fresh Lemon, Orange Cream and Fuschia for my rainbow backgrounds! Most of these links go to the ink set families. You always need coordinating colors!

I have a video if you'd prefer to see me in action. Video LINK.

I started by pressing the ink cubes onto the Gelli plate and used a small brayer to roll over the inks and roll off on a clean sheet of Classic Crest Solor White Cardstock to the side that I will emboss later. I did all three backgrounds at once and then proceeded to make the cards.

This is my favorite of the three cards I created. The background is actually the "roll off" cardstock.  I trimmed to 5.25 x 4.0 inches and embossed the cardstock and mounted on an A2 card base. I thought the image was a little blah so I swiped Maple Yellow ink on top to highlight the blooms.

I stamped the sentiment with Black Obsidian Ink.

Next up is the first print I made after inking up the Gelli Plate. I laid the flat side of the embossing folder in the ink and rubbed the backside to be sure I had good contact. A quick run through the die cut machine and you end up with the inked background and white flowers.

I die cut the word hugs from the Hello and Hugs Stamp and Die Bundle using the third background. I originally wasn't thrilled with the last background, but after cutting the sentiment for this card I found a way to use it. See the last card below! A few colored pearls finishes the look!

This is the final print from the Gelli plate to pick up all the leftover ink. I embossed the print as well. As I mentioned above, I wasn't going to use this one and die cut the sentiment for the card above from the flat section of the print. After taking a second look, I decided I could really use this card by mounting it on a coordinating cardstock base. Love it when you can salvage a "set to the side" piece. I swiped the flower bloom with the Maple Yellow ink.
