Funky and Frilly Etcetera Tag and Challenge

Hello friends! I am posting the challenge this week for The Funkie Junkie Boutique. We'd love to have you join in the fun by posting a project with buttons, lace or any funky and frilly embellishments. There is a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the store.

I am focused on creating decor tags as my postings for the blog this term. It all began with a Small Etcetera Tag painted with grey acrylic paint.

The base is covered with collage paper from my stash and colored with Distress Crayons (Speckled Egg, and Bundled Sage).  There are different design of the paper available in the shop. Once the base was dry, it was time to add the layers of embellishments.

I started with a gold piece of cardstock embossed with the Texture Fade Swirl Embossing folder from Sizzix. The shape is cut with The Trinket Frame Bigz die. A length of lace is attached with Ranger Distress Collage Medium (a great medium for attaching ephemera).

Check out the video for the Deets!

The Paper Doll is colored with Speckled Egg and Vintage Photos Distress Crayons and mounted with foam tape for dimension.

I added a few Wildflower Stems from my stash behind the girl. When I am die cutting and coloring, I tend to do multiples and store them in small plastic containers. Do you do that? I think it saves time!

The butterfly is from another Sizzix die Scribbly Butterflies. I die cut the wings with grey cardstock and backed it with vellum that I colored with coordinating Copic Makers. The butterfly is only glued n the center so it looks like it could take off at any moment!

The seam binding is dyed with Speckled Egg and Salvaged Patina. A few buttons later and the tag is good to go.  Be sure to check out the Challenge on The Funkie Junkie Boutiques Blog and enter to be in the drawing for a $25.00 shopping spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
I'd love to have you follow/subscribe on my social media sites Instagram, Facebook, Blogger and You Tube.  Be well. Be creative!

  3. I love that you are focusing on decor tags! I love them and yours is so pretty! I love your color choices!

Great idea to cut and color a bunch of die cuts to store for future projects. I have done that and then forget to use them! But I do save backgrounds and keep them front and center. I tend to create as I go, but for the the past couple months, I've pretty much relied on my background stash for my makes in one way or another.
