Fun with Envelope Boxes

Greetings Crafty Friends. I am submitting a few entries into the A Blog Named Hero's Challenge. This month is Anything but a Card which can really stretch your creative side. I decided to make envelope boxes.

I started with a dark blue base. The stamps, dies and stencil were all included in an older Hero Arts Monthly kit. I tend to hang onto my kits and find fun ways to use them!

Jennifer McGuire has a tutorial using a 9" square piece of cardstock to create the box. Once the box was scored and prepared, I used the stencil from the kit to add the stars. I added white pigment ink onto the stencil, spritzed with water and pressed onto a separate piece of blue cardstock.  After it was dry, I splattered silver paint on top.

I created  belly band to close the box.  It starts with a white piece of Neenah cardstock cut 1.5 x 11.5 inches.  I used a bullet point alcohol marker to add the lines on either side.

The boy on the moon was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  I also embossed one of the stars and the sentiment from the kit.  Once the star was attached and the belly band finished, I added the fishing pole also in silver embossing.

Come join me in the fun challenge from A Blog Named Hero.
