Altenew Educator "For the Love of Flowers" Blog Hop and Linky Party + Giveaway!

Greetings Crafty Friends!

I am so very happy to be hopping with this group of talented educators!  The party starts here on the
Altenew Blog.

I fell for the Wild Flora set when it was released!  My goal for this hop was to create four unique cards using the same stamp and die set.

Lets start with my favorite the Turquoise Flower.

Lets look at how this was created.

I created the background by dry embossing The Cube cover die. Then I cut a stencil from plastic paper and lined it up with the embossed piece. Using Sea Breeze ink cube, I blended the turquoise color over the stencil to make the embossed sections pop!

I stamped the flowers and colored them using alcohol markers.  This is one of my favorite color combinations!

Please check out and watch the video below to see the entire process.

My second card uses the same floral stamp and die set in a different color.

For this card, I stamped a floral image using xxxxx Grey ink. I stamped it at an angle as I knew I wanted to add a dimensional version on top.

The flowers were colored with alcohol markers. After this step was completed, I cut two more from white cardstock and layered them to create the dimensional piece. I decided the background needed a little more interest, so I embossed lines spaced 1/4 inch apart between the floral image.

I stamped the Hello on the bottom right section.

I used the second stamp and die set for the next card.

The background is created suing the Dotted Swirl background die. Using a smooshing technique, I picked up splotches of color to make the background pop. I love how the ink seeped into the dotted sections.

I cut the frame using two rounded rectangle dies. The hugs sentiment comes from the newer Hello and Hugs set.

The flower was colored with alcohol markers and layered on two white die cut pieces. A few drops of Altenew's Gold spray was added.

The last card uses the third stamp and die from the Wild Flora set.

Once the floral piece was colored using the Tropical Watercolor set and die cut, I decided to add the Mid Century Medallion as an accent.

The gray cardstock was stamped with the floral image using a grey Altenew ink pad.

The medallion was cut from a dull silver cardstock from my stash.  The sentiment was embossed using the Fancy Sentiments set.

I decided I needed a pop of color so I water colored a scrap of watercolor paper using the same yellow watercolor brush!
