Altenews January 2020 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Greetings Craft Friends!  I am so very honored to have been invited to participate as a Guest Designer for the Altenew January Release Blog Hop! You should have arrived from Kymona's Blog.

My first card was created using Mod Vases Die along with the Vase Fillers Stamp and Die set and the Hello and Hugs Stamp and Dies. I also used the Leaves and Berries stencil to dry emboss the background. I had fun with this design, stamping, die cutting and adding black outlines on all the components including the card base. I love the extra element the lines provide.

Please check out this YouTube video to see the process:

I love the gray background.  You can see the subtle texture created by dry embossing the front using the Berry and Leaves Stencil. The entire card has a soft and mellow color scheme!

I got a little wild with the color for card number 2.  The Wild Flora stamp and die set is a wonderful addition to your collection.

I love the bright colors created by inking up an acrylic block, spritzing it with water and stamping.  I die cut a mask using the one floral die and protected the paper prior to stamping the colored block.  Once the are had dried, I removed the mask and stamped the flowers using Versafine black ink.  My Misti stamp platform proved to be a terrific tool in placing the stamp!

I captured most of the process in this video. I did miss the stamping portion.

Here is a close-up of the card. I love the bright colors! The sentiment strip was made using Rubella ink. A few enamel dots add some interest!

The next card uses the muted florals from the Vase Fillers stamp and die sets to create a trifold card.

It opens to reveal new layers with the smallest arrangement on the base of the card.

I cut 2 circles from the front of the card base and the second piece cut at 4.50 x 5.5 inches.  This piece was scored on one side at 1/4 inch to create the trifold base. The vases were created using the Mod Vases Die set on watercolor paper, colored with the Altenew Pan Watercolor set.

You can see that I dry embossed the front piece with the Chevron Stencil.

The next card uses the Simple Beauty stamp set.

I arranged the stamp so it reached from one edge to the other.  I used the layered stamps to add depth to the flowers and leaves.  I dry embossed a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of teal cardstock using the Ombre Stripes Stencil.

I fussy cut one side of the floral arrangement and attached it to the teal striped bases.  The hugs plus the shadow were cut using white and teal cardstock.  The layers provide dimension.  A few enamel dots finish this card.

The last card is full of texture!

I used metallic cardstock for the snow, gray and blue layers.  Once they were cut using the Mountain Die Set, I sprayed the paper with water and crushed the paper in different directions to create the texture.

The sky was created using inks from the newly released Sugar Plum and Tranquility ink sets. By smooshing them on my craft mat and adding water, it was easy to color the piece of watercolor paper to create a winter sky.

The card needed some snow, so I used Altenew Embossing paste and patted it on using my finger to create the snow layer.

I love the realistic look it achieved.

The final step was to add the Modern Fox image along with the sentiment.
