Glitter Butterfly

Hello Crafty Friends!  I hope you are enjoying these summer days!

I have a new post for CutCardStock.com.  Thinking about butterflies!  I started with a Stamping Up Butterfly Thinlet die.  I cut 2 butterflies, one with CCS Silver Glitter Cardstock and the second with Dolphin Gray cardstock.  I then colored a piece of Glama Natural Translucent Vellum using peach Copic markers. I sandwiched the vellum between the 2 butterflies.

I silver embossed and older Hero Arts die on Basis Coral cardstock. I used a punch to make the oval opening at the bottom. I mounted the Coral cardstock on a Dolphin Gray base.  The sentiment was embossed in the opening. I curled the wings of the butterfly for dimension.  By scoring the sides of the butterfly, I was able to glue the body down, leaving the wings to appear the butterfly was flying. A silver gel pen was used for the antennae.

Here is a close-up so you can see the dimension.

Thanks for stopping by. Be well. Be creative.
